It just went underground for a while. And not very far underground at that. Throughout the 1990’s and 2000s, Republican politicians frequently caused a stir with race baiting. Much of right wing talk radio dripped with it. Fox noise was in on the act.

Trump proved conclusively that white racism is alive, He knew that race baiting would be the golden key to political success, and he has seldom missed an opportunity to race bait.
