Kinda stupid to think the writers of the Constitution foresaw aviation as an effective weapons platform. The Constitution did call for the maintenance of our Navy. It did not prohibit the maintenance of an army in times of need. The need became constant. The army is justified. We do what we need to do in the way of armed forces to match and exceed what other nations do in their drive to defeat us. Your argument is patently stupid unless you are content with our being conquered.

Obama sidesteps the Constitution on a regular basis. Well, he either side steps it or he's so eaten up with narcissism that he ignores the fact that we have one.

It's just a fact. Welfare has gone up exponentially while the Average Net Worth as a percent of disposable income and, especially, the Average Income of AVERAGE Americans has declined precipitously.

*Public Health-care

Constitutional government? Under the current system, this is not possible.

Let me splain. The Founding Fathers were very aware and concerned that the Federal government might rise up and assume too much power. They did so at the turn of the 20th century by amending the Constitution to allow the Federal income tax. They had to amend the Constitution to allow it because SCOTUS had previously struck down an income tax as being unconstitutional. This gave the Federal government a great deal more revenue that they used to subvert state power. But they were not done. They also took away from the states the right to appoint Senators and created the Fed.

Now the Federal government not only taxes us all directly via our income, they have the Fed simply print money that they want to have that they don't collect from us. The game now is that states will do the bidding of the Federal government so long as they want continued federal funding via their funny money. Now we have a President that decides how our children are educated in school or what doctor we should see. The system is now a centralized collectivist system, and counter to what the Founders envisioned as a limited government.

So now your choice is, who can be the best collectivist, a democrat or republican? In other words, who has the best one size fits all policy towards any given problem in society? Then they create a massive pot of money to "fix" whatever the hell they say they are trying to fix, and the money just disappears.

Mark Levin wrote a book called, "Liberty Amendments". You should check it out. He states that the Constitution under article V gives states the right to rise up and amend the Constitution without any participation of the federal government. It seems to be the only legal recourse, not that there is much chance of it, but at least their is a glimmer of hope. The first order to business, I think, is to set term limits for those in Congress. Then perhaps move on the a balanced budget amendment etc. Theoretically, we could revert back to the system intended.

And you can point the Federalist papers too. James Madison wrote extensively about the Dangerous of a professional military under Federal control. And the "need" is only constant when you attack other nations. That's WHY it became constant. The US force turned from a defensive one to an offensive one. We've only been attacked by foreign nations a handful of times, the last time being Pearl Harbor.

This country will never ever be conquered using conventional means, either. You guys and your "Red Dawn" fantasies are just that.
