Obama asks black NY Governor not to run

You know Xeno, your title was quite different than the article. :eusa_eh:

Also, not sure if this has been done before so directly? However, Obama is right in one part, Paterson is not going to win if he runs for reelection.

WTF?

Preamble and the 10th. ALL need to let the WH know this is unacceptable.

Will all of you spare your faux outrage? You don't think the heads of political parties never told a candidate or someone in office NOT to run for political office?

Should Obama do this? No, let Paterson learn the hard way.

However, don't act like this shit hasn't been done before. The willful ignorance is so obvious.

According to the N.C GOP:

'It is entirely appropriate'

The ad actually targets gubernatorial candidates Richard Moore and Bev Perdue, Democrats who have endorsed Obama.

"We have a great relation with the RNC and we fully support John McCain for president," Woodcox said. "But this is an ad about two North Carolina candidates for governor. The ad is going to run."

Oh my god! McCain! Preamble! 10th! WH! *Head spins*

Be sure to let McCain you think this is unacceptable too Modo.

It's pathetic that you see nothing wrong with attempted violations of the Constitution. Look, skippy, you provide us with an example of a past president who has made such a request to a gubernatorial candidate, then we can talk.

Until then, your lack of concern for the document on which this country is based is not only pathetic, but frightening to all who value the Constitution. If there ever is uncontrolled unrest, you and your pathetic and shameful views would be best served to keep a low profile. There are a lot of persons who swear an oath to value it.

Just sayin'....

so, asking them not to run an ad is now equal to asking a candidate(a sitting governor) not to run?

Nope, both are state politics however. If you're going to be outraged by the big stuff, might as well be outraged by the little stuff too. Otherwise the little stuff could turn into the big stuff.

Obama is practically the head of the Democratic Party. HE is the reason they won this election and won so many seats this November. The Democrats were knocking on death's door before he came around. He was simply telling Paterson that it would be in the best interest of the Democratic Party for him to not run. This is a case of politics, nothing unusual. To act like if it is so would be willfully ignorant.

Only one with such synaptic malfunctioning as yours could equate running an ad to a gubernatorial election.

No, YOU listen here Gilligan, don't give me the strawman arguments as if I don't believe in the Constitution. Your dishonesty is both shameful and disrespectful.

Look at my post above Gilligan, and take your faux outrage elsewhere. Honestly, this is politics and nothing more. Obama isn't forcing him to do anything he doesn't want to. He's advising him out of the party's best interests.

What does the point of being POTUS make a difference? He's still a Democrat. No different than Bush being a Republican in office. What? Do you honestly expect them to ignore what's going on in their own party?

Also, are you going to sit there and tell me that whoever was associated with Obama in the last election did not benefit? It got to the point where REPUBLICANS were trying to associate themselves with Obama.

My question is why did Xeno choose that thread title? Nowhere in the article that I could find did it say "Obama asks Black NY Governor not to run"

There was no absolutely no legitimate reason to interject race into the thread title.

Your example of faux-logic shines right through. Your faux-understanding of Constitutional principles is apparent.

Take your faux-rationale that allows you to equate an attempted Executive Branch infringement on states' rights to a request for an ad and discuss it at HuffPo. That's where you get your faux-outrage and pussy argument talking points from others who think for you. You are a willing tool of those bright enough to manipulate you, which isn't saying much about their capabilities.

OH, and by the way, Obama and Paterson have already gone at it at least once in the last month already.

David Paterson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On August 21, in a radio interview, Paterson suggested that his low popularity is due to racism, and mentioned Massachusettes Gov. Deval Patrick as receiving the same treatment.[171][172] Paterson also said that Barack Obama would be next to suffer from poor approval due to his skin color. The White House asked Paterson to tone down his comments on race, but less than 24 hours after, Paterson said: "Part of what I feel is that one very successful minority is permissible; but when you see too many success stories, then some people get nervous."[173]

And:

The New York Times reported that Obama was worried about Paterson's continued unpopularity would drag on the Democratic members of New York's 29-member congressional delegation (of which 26 seats are currently held by Democrats) and potentially cost the Democrats the control over the state legislature that they secured in the 2008 elections.

Though with comments like Paterson's, who can blame him for worrying? Paterson is already placing the race card. Obama's comments lately to Carter and overall have been in the opposite direction of what Paterson is trying to promote.

Obama asked the NY governor not to run. The NY governor is black. Would you have prefered he said "Obama asks blind NY governor not to run"? The governor is blind as well.

So the fuck what? BHO asked a governor not to run. That is none of BHO's fucking business. Not only is it none of BHO's business, it's a big mistake on BHO's part as he shows his disregard for the Constitution.

Just because I use the word faux one doesn't mean you act like a kid who learns a new word and overuse it.

2.) Once you stop acting five, look at my last post above and then use common sense. This is one politician asking another politician in the name of the same party they are apart of to step down for the sake of the party.

You're trying to overgeneralize it and think "OH MY GOD! OBAMA IS TRYING TO ENGAGE IN SOCIALISM OR DICTATORSHIP"

When it's not. If a Republican did this, I could care less two shits. This is a non-issue, this is politics at it's best really.

3.) What a fucking clown you are. I don't go on the HuffPo, however while you worship at the altar of Fox News that is really fucking hilarious. Now listen here punk and listen well: YOU DO NOT KNOW ME.

So don't run your mouth trying to think you know me. I don't get my arguments or anything of the sort from the Huff. Ask anyone on me who's actually been around more than a month unlike you. I have said in the past the following "Using Fox News as a source as a Republican is like a Liberal using The Huff."

IF anyone here is the sheep, it's you little sheepie. You follow along your little puppet masters who do the same shit Obama does, but paint it differently. That way, when you help get your puppet masters back in charge, you can feel content, while they continue to fuck the country over in the ass. So now you partisan hack, while you are a little sheep for the right. Because you use the Constitution like you use the word Patriotism. They have no meaning to you anymore, you and the rest of the clowns on both the left and right have killed those terms. You have made them into something they no longer are. If the Founding Fathers were around today, they would literally bitch slap you back to the 16th century so you can see how THEY RAN shit.
