Lumber Union Protectionists Incited SWAT Raid On My Factory, Says Gibson Guitar CEO

“Henry. A SWAT team from Homeland Security just raided our factory!”

“What? This must be a joke.”

“No this is really serious. We got guys with guns, they put all our people out in the parking lot and won’t let us go into the plant.”

“Whoa.”

What is happening?” asks Gibson Guitar CEO Henry Juszkiewicz when he arrives at his Nashville factory to question the officers. “We can’t tell you.” “What are you talking about, you can’t tell me, you can’t just come in and …” “We have a warrant!” Well, lemme see the warrant.” “We can’t show that to you because it’s sealed.”

Gibson has been busted before for using rare, "endangered" woods for some of their guitars.

The wood was obtained illegally.

Unions and Obama had nothing to do with it.

Buy a Stratocaster.

That's bullshit. They followed all the required procedures to obtain the wood. The Obama administration has been persecuting the company.

Why is "endangered wood" a federal concern?

Why isn't an endangered CONSTITUTION a federal concern?

Why are you defending UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACTS?

Yep yep

Last week federal marshals raided the Gibson Guitar Corporation in Tennessee. It wasn't the first time. The government appears to be preparing to charge the famous builder of instruments with trafficking in illegally obtained wood. It's a rare collision of music and environmental regulation.

In the hottest part of an August Tennessee day last Thursday, Gibson Guitar CEO Henry Juszkiewicz stood out in the full sun for 30 minutes and vented to the press about the events of the day before.

"We had a raid," he said, "with federal marshals that were armed, that came in, evacuated our factory, shut down production, sent our employees home and confiscated wood."

The raids at two Nashville facilities and one in Memphis recalled a similar raid in Nashville in November 2009, when agents seized a shipment of ebony from Madagascar. They were enforcing the Lacey Act, a century-old endangered species law that was amended in 2008 to include plants as well as animals. But Juszkiewicz says the government won't tell him exactly how — or if — his company has violated that law.

Newsflash people, this is one of several schemes our government has been using to extort money from businesses and individuals. Even if you are innocent its just cheaper to pay the damn bastards off than to fight them in court.

Brazilian rosewood was used for decades for guitar fret boards, a tone wood used for crafting many musical instruments prized for its beauty and musical resonance. Well governments declared the tree 'endangered' and passed a bunch of half baked laws making it illegal to cut those trees down and sell the wood.

Now try going through customs with a guitar that was made say in the 1950's - 1970's with a Brazilian Rosewood fret board, perfectly legal at the time, now you may find yourself arrested and your guitar confiscated. What has Trump been telling you, government is run by idiots hello.

The Gibson factory raid of a few years ago was a fishing expedition. It did not matter that their supplies of Brazilian Rosewood were obtained legally, and you can still obtain this wood legally today if you document well the source e.g. recycled logs, other sources that do not involve cutting down remaining trees. But our government decided to shake Gibson down for cash, simple as that. With your factory shut down and your USA workers not getting a paycheck to feed their families it was cheaper to just pay the fuckers off.

Welcome to Amerika.

The goddamn fucking illegals cut these trees down and burn them to grow and manufacture illegal drugs. Does Obama secure the border and put a stop to the drug trafficking? No, instead his environment Nazi's raid a US factory that employs American citizens who manufacture musical instruments. That's just how screwed up our country is.

The only threat to the Constitution comes from you and others on the right who are ignorant of, and have contempt for, the Constitution, its case law, and the rule of law.

Environmental regulatory policies are necessary, proper, and Constitutional, as authorized by the Commerce Clause.

Your thread premise is a ridiculous lie: the Obama Administration is neither harassing nor intimidating entrepreneurs.

Yes, indeed.

I can not believe that Americans do not come to the defense of a businessman who is being UNCONSTITUTIONALLY persecuted for a NON CRIME
