Obama Focuses On Success During West Coast Swing | Fox News

In Seattle on Sunday, Obama was just as aggressive in asserting his first term has been successful as he claimed that he has accomplished the vast majority of what he wanted to get done.

"We’re just starting off here, we’ve got 14 months," Obama said about his first term in office, urging supporters to help spread the message that it’s not a failure he’s only gotten 80 percent of what he wants done so far.

"That’s a success,” Obama said, adding that it should be an inspiration to get the other 20 percent of his agenda done. He was speaking at a brunch at the home of a former Microsoft executive closed to television cameras that raked in $35,800 per couple.
Most rational people would beg to differ on the 80% success rate the President is claiming.

For instance, Politifact has over 500 Obama campaign promises on record...
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/
currently...
145 are listed as KEPT
43 are listed as COMPROMISE
47 are listed as BROKEN
69 are listed as STALLED
202 are listed as IN THE WORKS
2 are listed as NOT RATED

Even if you give the President credit for both KEPT and COMPROMISE, that's still only 37% of his pre-election agenda.

He must have pulled the 80% figure out of the same orifice that he pulled all the 'created or saved' job numbers from.

Let him claim a higher rate. That means despite his "victories" we aren't any better. It just shows his incompetence.

Strange... I thought Obama told us the Republicans block everything and that's why the economy is failing.

How many Presidents get 80% of what they want done in their first term. Man, Obama really does 9own the economy lol.

Obama might be the stupidest President in the history of our country. The whole “lie big” thing has been taken too far.

I'm sure that his success measuring stick is how close to an authoritarian socialist state we can become.

The more government influence and control = success to Obama.

He just hasn't figured out the whole economy thing yet.

The progressives in charge have not figured out how to manipulate the public into believing they're living under under a free market capitalist free nation with a constitution and Bill of Rights while truly living under a socialist dictated economy with an authoritarian society...

I suppose that's why they call their ideas progressive..... Maybe in 10-20 years they hope to have their Orwellian society...

I think Obama has gone delusional -:lol: And for good reason after the loss of NY9--DEMOCRATS are running from him--making him a LAME DUCK President 14 months prior to the election.

Maybe he thinks if he says it enough it will come true?--:cuckoo:

I was with El Rushbo when he said he hoped Obama failed as a president.... unfortunatley, Obama is doing a great job of destroying what is left of our economy.

That is exactly what he set out to do..... "fundamentally change America"

I cant wait till that bastard is unemployed. (and yes he is a bastard... look up the definition)

Exactly. The problem with Obama isn't that he has failed. It's that he has succeeded at most of his agenda.

I think we need to fundamentally change Amerca too. But I think we should do it by restoring our Republic.

It's DISGUSTING to see a President "begging"..Especially at a fundraiser that cost 35,800 a couple..

No matter what he says he got. A MAJORITY of the people don't want ANY MORE of his VISIONS.

go away

I've never heard him make a "promise". When he says I will work for health care for millions of Americans, he's not making a promise. He's saying he will do his best. Who knew Republicans will do their worst? How can you be proud to keep health care or unemployment from millions of Americans? They can. I couldn't. Glad I'm not them.

Rdean, you're monumentally stupid then, because everyone else heard all the promises listed at Politifact... including other liberals.

Now, if Obama got 80% of what he wanted so far, how is it that he continually says the GOP is obstructing him? They must really suck at obstructing him if he got 80% of what he wanted.

You've never heard him make a promise? Maybe you should try listening to him sometimes. He is, after all, the one claiming that he accomplished 80% of what he set out to do.

I don't know how you can be proud to keep healthcare from Americans or keep Americans unemployed. But you continually praise Obama care which does both.

Hold on there. Look, I voted for Obama, and based on the nuts the GOP plans on running against him, I probably will again. However, "let's be clear"....the Democrats within Obama's own party, WHILE THEY HAD A SUPERMAJORITY, sunk real Healthcare reform. While the GOP spread wild lies about it, and obviously was nor is in favor of it, Obama didn't need a single R to get his desired legislation passed.
