• An outage in the area impacted roughly 50,000 customers after a fire at an electrical substation in Alameda County
• Pacific Gas and Electric officials are investigating the incident, which comes after a series of attacks on substations across the U.S. in recent weeks

A major power outage caused by a fire at an electrical substation shut down the Oakland Airport in Northern California Sunday evening.
More than 50,000 customers in the Bay Area were impacted and flights out of the area were halted after a fire broke out at a Pacific Gas and Electric substation around 1pm.

In December, unidentified individuals attacked two power substations in Moore County, North Carolina, where some 45,000 people lost power.

Just weeks later, another attack occurred in Randolph County, North Carolina.

In Washington state, two men were charged just after New Year's Day for attacking four power stations on Christmas, leaving thousands in the dark and cold for the holidays.

The increasing number of attacks has caused some legislators to ring the alarm over the safety and security of substations across the country.

They truly are trying, IMO, to get more and more Americans used to less and less. They are destroying the power grid bit by bit with their obsession (lies) over wind and solar, which they allow you cannot run a power grid off of while killing drilling at every turn.

In NY the NY Metro area Con Edison is now bragging about battery systems (which are very expensive and provide very little backup) while at the same time telling people to expect even more rate increases above and beyond the 60% or so of the past six years.

The Federal Reserve has people who all but say that they don't care about the economy and that they must keep raising interest rates until they achieve 2% inflation even if it takes 2 or 3 more years while depressing economic growth.

IOW. Less is better. Oh, and eat insects instead of meat.

The Bay Area had roling blackouts all the time when I lived there in the 1990's. They wouldn't notice. The major gasoline refinery in the area also always seemed to break down right at peak consumption times during the year and prices would rise. Just a coincidence of course ....

Yeah, saw that on the morning news. BART was running bus bridges between 12th Street Station in Oakland and Embarcadero Station in San Francisco. There was a bus bridge for Oakland Airport. Oakland Airport was shut down for several hours but service from SF to San Jose was not effected which meant SFO and Mineta Airport were not affected. Flights to Oakland were re-routed.

I'm hoping this was NOT an act of Reich Wing Terrorism, but sure stinks like it. Catch these assholes and send to Santa Rita County Jail for a while, they deserve some GenPop justice.
