NYC School Children Heckled By Adults While Singing “God Bless the USA”

I totally get that. Tell me why a country song should not be played in the City? That is what makes her statement funny, because it makes NO SENSE. I don't care if he served or not, he is praising all the troops who have died.

Exactly. It's hysterical. I guess you can't play "city songs" in the country now either.

We saw the other side. They were screaming obscenities, calling people racist, and saying "the stars and stripes, what does it mean? no one know".

BTY it wasn't the Tea Party anthem it was Proud to be an American which was passed over for a Justin Beiber song.

Why are the kids being asked to sing the Tea Party anthem in the mist of Republican campaign elections signs? The parents didn't give their permission. They have ever right to be pissed at having their kids used in a political stunt like this. The principal should be called on the carpet.

The parents planned the event. ( link above) Turner reached out to them and attended too. Why do you keep stating that the parents did not give permission when they planned the event? The counter protestors ( those who did not want the kids to follow through with singing the song) were there from the president of the PTA to other teachers with their children.

You need to watch the video again the first man that starts shouting is directing his speech to the kids. "You all are going to burn in Hell" Burn in HELL".

I can't view the video but I found a transcript. I think we can be certain that the hecklers were not Republican or Tea Party.

Some were offended by the principal’s decision, prompting Rep. Bob Turner, who is running for the U.S. Senate, to organize the event on Tuesday morning.

Shortly after the ceremony began, chaos ensued.

“You Republicans come go to a Republican area and do that, we don’t do that here,” one protester said. “This is ridiculous, this is sad. This is so crazy. This is sad.”

“Excuse me sir, can you let the kids sing please?” a man presumed to be a Turner staffer interjected.

The heckler immediately screamed “No!” and added “The kids don’t even know what they’re singing! They got something you tell them to say! It’s ridiculous! It’s sad, sad, sad. Y’all are going to burn in hell! You all burn in hell! Shame on you! Shame on you!”

After the kids finished singing, the children began to chant “USA! USA! USA!” to drown out the protesters, but the chanting failed to deter the hecklers.

So now to sing a "country" song in the "city" is wrong. And if you are a" Republican" you obviously have no right to sing" God Bless the USA" in a Democrat neighborhood.

Their TEACHERS picked it and they were going to sing it until the Principal said they could not because it may offend some cultures. So they staged the protest to sing it anyway with their parents permission. The principal is a Jehovah Witness and would have objections to the song given her religion. I do not know if that is why she rejected it though.
