NY Mayor cancels taxpayer-funded pre-paid debit card program for illegal aliens

That wasn’t the question. Who gets the money? The needy Americans or the needy foreign scofflaws?

If you can simply make up scenarios to create a question, I can do the same to create an answer.

Coming here and applying for asylum is legal.
What about the ones who enter illegally and are caught, and THEN say “asylum”?

You’re avoiding answering. Why are you so unwilling to say that needy Americans should come before needy foreigners who broke into our country illegally?

Our laws do not work based upon how you think they should work unless you want to apply that to all.

The law during President Trump's first reign was that Illegals stayed in Mexico and it worked out tremendously.

The idea of course is to let people wait in line abroad instead of just rushing the open border.

It's legal to do that. It has to be within a certain time frame. If not then they get deported. Of course with their jobs awaiting them they just come back.

They still came. There was no magical thing that stopped them from coming. Interesting use of "reign" though.

That's not our law though.

Because as I said, I reject your premise that we can't address both.

I said that is how it “should” be done, not that this is the current mechanism. Crazy me, but it just makes more sense to me to vet people BEFORE they come in as opposed to letting them in and then trying to figure it out later. I don’t expect common sense to prevail here because Democrats in particular have none, but just thought I would throw the idea out there.

I have no idea how they would react. If it ever happens, maybe we can find out. I'll not hold my breath for it to happen though.
I do know how they'd react, simply based on the way they went after two politicians who attempted to live by what Jesus said, Johnson and Pence. Any politician who voices his belief in Christ and dares to try to live by His commands is accused of wanting to impose a theocracy and is feared by the usual suspects. So, while they on the one hand like to demand that Christians force the government to obey Christ's commands (the ones convenient to the moment, they OTOH hate and fear the result if said Christians actually did it.

I've never argued that. Trump has been found guilty or liable many times.
No, that's not how our laws work. I expect you knew this before posting though.

Therefore it stands to reason that they shouldn’t be let in before they are vetted. Duh. Would you support a law that enforced this mechanism? If not, why?

Always liked the way the left supports freedom of religion.

You are free to believe that. You are even free to work to get it done.

Seems to me that Trump went after Pence pretty hard. For me it was largely Pence's hypocrisy in support of a guy that did none of the things he said he believed.

Maybe he was just naĂŻve, I don't know.

Then for many politics is their sole belief system and you'll get what you get there.

It's possible. I'd have to see what all is in it. I'd also only support it if the mechanism to make it work was put in place.

Maybe Trump will propose the idea. Now is the time to get common sense like this stuff done with control of Congress. The crazy left can scream and yell and call him names, but who cares. I have had enough of pandering to crazy, idealistic children.

It’s not legal to make up bogus claims about asylum, which the majority are.

I'll wait to see what is proposed to comment on it.
