There have been so many attempts to rewrite the story of his landings, as well as to which explorer originally hit US soil first, I just prefer to stick with Columbus
Don’t believe me? You find so called history saying Asians did, or Blacks did, or Vikings, Muslims, etc. I don’t believe anything today as there are extreme biases/agendas today that there were not in history telling back when it actually happened. And they all claim to have irrefutable evidence. There is also evidence of trying to reinterpret writings of said events to fit agendas as well.
We also all must admit that all ethnicities had/have their power hungry, conquerors/ fighters and lovers and everything in between. And during that time when exploring, it was a time of survival of the fittest, not due to favored races , but simply the will to survive! And only those that were the fittest were making these trips to unknown lands. Imagine coming upon a people so different from ones self, never heard of. Think they weren’t on constant watch for the first sign of perceived threat or aggression by others so unlike themselves and did not respond with fight rather than flight, as these men, each and everyone, from all ethnicities wished to survive. Think of the fear of the unknown. And those they encountered would be feeling the same, maybe even more so. And I imagine each side could easily misinterpret each others body language, not familiar with their cultures. Some were from more modernized/advanced areas of the world due to exposure, with more modern tooling for weaponry, than many they encountered. They ended up with the advantage in many cases.

It reminds me it looks to be just another way of rewriting all of past history here, due to agendas rather than rock solid evidence, even though they will claim such. New discoveries are made daily knocking down what was supposed to be rock solid previously. What once was red is now green, up is now down, etc, etc, etc.
