After trump's ill-fated, reckless decision to withdraw from the JCPOA, eventually causing this war, he said he would negotiate a better deal. He failed. With the US imposing heavy economic sanctions on Iran, the offer of lifting sanctions being what brought it to the negotiating table in the first place, it announced it would withdraw from the agreement on May 8, 2019. Exactly 1 year after Don essentially killed it.

In response, Obama made a prediction.

Trump says U.S. pulling out of ā€˜rotten’ nuclear deal

The move makes good on Trump’s insistence that the deal was too generous, allowing Iran to keep a mostly dormant nuclear program that Trump said could quickly produce a nuclear bomb once the deal’s provisions expire in the middle of the next decade.

But it further strains relations with key European allies, who have spent months urging Trump to sustain the agreement. It also came over the opposition of China and Russia, which were also parties to the 2015 deal.

And it drew an unusual public rebuke from former President Barack Obama himself, who invoked the specter of military conflict.

ā€œWithout the [Iran deal], the United States could eventually be left with a losing choice between a nuclear-armed Iran or another war in the Middle East,ā€ Obama said in a lengthy statement.

Many former Obama administration officials suspect that Trump’s decision was, in part personal — that he was motivated by a desire to gut Obama’s foreign policy legacy.
Obama aides, including former Secretary of State John Kerry, spent years pushing sanctions and hundreds of hours painstakingly negotiating the deal over some 18 months, and Trump’s decision left some of them dejected.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, meanwhile, said he had ordered his foreign minister to begin negotiating with other countries to salvage the deal, according to The Associated Press. He added that if those talks fail, Iran will once against enrich uranium ā€œmore than before … in the next weeks.ā€

But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — a vociferous critic of the deal who calls Iran an existential threat to his country — praised Trump’s ā€œbold decision.ā€

Naturally, trump apologists have made all manner of factually incorrect allegations about the agreement made in 2015 designed to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. They amount to nothing more than a parroting of trump's lies about the adequacy of the JCPOA. Ultimately, Obama's comments following the withdrawal have proven to be prescient. So too Hillary's comments about trump's lack of fitness to lead the nation. If only we had listened.

Obama enabled Iran to be as much of a threat and sponsor of terrorism by proxies as they are now, or as much as they were at the beginning of this thing, anyway.
He gave them money to do it, even. :rolleyes-41:

Speaking of Obama.

Trump Faces Blowback on Easing Iran Oil Sanctions

An agreement by the Obama administration to send $1.7 billion to Tehran around the same time that it reached a sweeping deal to curtail Iran’s nuclear program drew fierce backlash from Republicans, including Donald J. Trump.

A decade later, the Trump administration is on the defensive as it tries to justify temporarily lifting sanctions on 140 million barrels of Iranian oil that is currently sitting at sea. With oil prices hovering around $100 a barrel, the sanctions relief, which is intended to boost global supplies of crude to ease energy prices, could give Iran a $14 billion windfall at the same time the United States is waging a war on the country.

Blowback, but from who? Surely not members of The Following. Don is infallible in their fawning eyes.

He gave them money you say?

Trumps sole motivation was to take away another Obama accomplishment
His whole motivation is to put his name over Obama's since Obama embarrassed him at the Correspondents Dinner. Trump hates how Obama was respected by the world while Trump is belittled and mocked. It's half of his personality.

He even SNUCK the Islamic terrorists money, in cash, in the middle of the night, to the tune of billions of dollars, and without Congress’ knowledge.

Obama never had an issue with "another war".

We do not have a 50/50 nation in promoting agendas and propaganda. It is more like 95/5 in favor of Progressives. Every day. In near every way.

He has a well founded inferiority complex when it comes to Barrack. Obama is smarter, more accomplished in areas that matter, is a devoted father and husband, he's more articulate, better educated, a better judge of character, more popular, never had to try to steal an election, not a criminal..................the list is long.

Disabuse yourself of your false beliefs.

Notice how Obama built an international coalition including EU, Russia and China to craft a nuclear deal?
Trump just attacks and says…..what are you going to do about it?

Well, Bebe was on his side. Actually, you could say trump was on Bebe's side since Dotard was following Israel's lead.

The JPOA was a total failure it never addressed rockets and Iran ignored it. Its the best example of Obamas incompetence in foreign policy. Then we have the red line in the sand. Iran knew Obama had no balls. They made an ass out of him

You're actually criticizing Obama for not getting congressional approval with a straight face?

The money was because of a lawsuit over a failed arms deal (it is a good argument for us to quit with the arms deals).

The Supreme Court even chimed in and backed the payments as legit.

One of maybe two things Obama did right in 8 years. (I have to imagine there is something else though I can't recall any at the moment).

It was lame and stupid of him to try and do it under cover though.

More lies to cover Trumps fuk up
EVERY inspection showed Iran was in compliance with the deal.

Iran knew they could trust Obama and worked out an enforceable deal.
Trump is not trusted by our allies or enemies

Iran had to be notified in advance of an inspection making them worthless. Obama was a total fool
