Shoulda cut Puerto Rico loose years ago. We should have granted it Independence when they were demanding it back in the day. It's just another massive drain on the US at this point. When Jackson Morrisseau learned that he was approved for a new constructed government-sponsored house on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince, the retired father of two thought he finally found deliverance after losing almost everything in the Jan. 12, 2010, earthquake.

But months after moving into the small yellow house, Morrisseau, 60, is having second thoughts.

He’s thinking about moving out. His wife and two school-age daughters don’t live with him, they remain in a temporary zinc shack closer to the city, not far from their quake-flattened house.

“Over here is very far, that’s probably why all of these houses are still empty,” Morrisseau said about hundreds of vacant houses inside the Lumane Casimir Village at the foot of the Morne-à-Cabrit mountain, 12 miles from the international airport.

Oh my God dude. I can't believe that you're still not seeing the part that is pertinent. The amount of force we mobilized in such a short amount of time makes our response to Puerto Rico look anemic. The size of the response was much bigger. I posted an article earlier that talks about just how much more, and it's a lot. We had over 22,000 troops in Haiti, hundreds of helicopters and millions of pounds of supplies.

How about you post a sided by side time line on exactly when the levels of support reached each area. I think you'll find the support in PR and they US VI is much quicker. I doubt you have any experience in what it takes to mount an operation of that size.

Puerto Rico & USVI update 9/28/17, from FEMA:
Search and rescue teams in Puerto Rico have covered the entire island, except for Lajas, Maricao, Vieques and Culebra. *They have and are still conducting ongoing operations to 90% of the island.
Points of Distribution (POD) have now been set up across PR. This means each city or specific areas in PR have one location where large supplies will be located. Residents in those areas can locate food and water at those PODs. The USVI PODs will open later today.
The USVI drinking water system is back up.
National Guard Units are in PR and USVI in the thousands. - providing security, transporting supplies, etc.
180 federal agents are in PR and USVI along with 100 NY State Troopers, providing protection support.
San Juan airport now has 12 or so commercial flights per day.
More than 50 US Forest Service personnel are in PR clearing roads blocked by trees, etc.
US Army Corps of Engineers are in PR to clear debris and enable access to remote areas.
The US Dept of Defense has dispatched 100 fuel trucks w 275,000 gallons of fuel.
Power at one hospital in San Juan and one in Bayamon has been restored. More than half of the dialysis centers in PR have re-opened.
The Coast Guard has re-opened 4 ports in PR and 6 in USVI.
FEMA and the Dept of Defense have brought 300 generators to PR.
