Blish is a pretty good writer. I enjoyed his Star Trek series.

Yes, I have a couple of his other novels, but his book adaptations of the original episodes into printed form are actually surprisingly good. As you read them though, you find small variations between the book and what happened in the TV show at times--- turns out that Blish worked off of earlier versions of the scripts, and I often thought that the changes were even better than the filmed versions.
