The title of the thread says, NON CITIZENS which implies legal immigrants on green cards or other visas...
.... and the article implies a mistake in processing or procedure and not a devised conspiracy with malice to steal an election with illegal immigrants in mass, let in to the USA to purposely do this cheating.... by a political party....as all on the Trumper side lie about 24/7.

There is a distinct difference. And this does not seem to meet the high level of the repeated Trumper accusations on democratic party theft by letting illegal's in to the country and using them and conspiring with them, to illegally vote for Democrats....?

I had read another article a few years ago on another state or two, that illegals very very rarely register to vote....it is legal aliens, awaiting citizenship that have been found on voter rolls, traced to being a misunderstanding....or two....some were sent/given forms, some thought they were required to register to vote as part of getting the citizenship process completed..... None had voted....that I remember.

No, we have repeatedly pointed out that states that auto register at things like getting a License do this and you claimed it NEVER happens. Which is it? It never happens or golly they made a mistake?

Yep still rare.

It goes back to “motor voter” legislation that made registering to vote part of the DMV cycle.

Which can be confusing to non native English speakers.

I think being “able” to start the registration process at a DMV is fine. I say start because actual registration doesn’t occur until it is approved by election officials. But it should be a separate process.

We already have voter ID at the polls with few exceptions.

The Save act is not a good act as written....it will disenfranchise married women whose name has changed since birth, stop voter registration initiatives to get new voters enrolled, cut back voting days, and cut back legitimate absentee voting, and disenfranchise students from voting who attend schools out of state etc etc etc....

It's a massive attack on voting rights.....especially for the working class, women, and students....a real ID driver's licence can't even be used as identification.....just a birth certificate and Passport are accepted...only the wealthy that travel overseas have passports....

The law, is a solution in search of a problem, and causes a lot of hurdles with difficulty for law abiding citizens from having their constitutional right to vote....married women-extra hurdle, military and families - extra hurdle, college students extra hurdle, anyone in a job that moves you- an extra hurdle, etc etc etc....

The States/voting precincts should be doing the vetting and verifying registrations through federal systems at their fingertips right now.....before they ever mail the new registrant a voter's registration approval card. And not just verifying citizenship, but their age, whether they are a felon or ex felon and are voting restricted, their address verified too.

In my finest Hillary shrill... WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?? ANYone who should not be voting, should not be voting. 6 year old children should not be voting. Dead mothers and Grandfathers should not be voting. People who are not here legally, for whatever reason, should not be voting. And any and all measures should be engaged to verify that only people who SHOULD be voting, are voting. Not doing this compromises the integrity of the entire voting process. This isn't exactly ROCKET SURGERY people...

A passport is a constitutional right for a US Citizen. as for the Constitution, in order to vote you need to be a citizen and requiring proof is not against the constitution.
