Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston responded to U.S. president Donald Trump's tariff increase on Saturday.

Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston
has outlined his response to tariffs imposed on Canada by U.S. President Donald Trump.
On Saturday, Trump signed an executive order that imposes a 25 per cent tariff on Canadian goods entering the U.S., including a 10 per cent tariff on oil and gas.
In a press release sent just hours after the tariffs were confirmed, Houston said that as of Monday, tolls at the Cobequid Pass will double for commercial vehicles entering from the U.S.

He said the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation will be directed to remove all U.S. alcohol from store shelves effective this Tuesday. That totals more than 400 products, including beer, wine, spirits and coolers.

For the 2023-24 fiscal year, sales of U.S. products imported from the U.S. totalled $18 million of the NSLC's $753 million in sales on alcohol, said a liquor corporation spokesperson. These products made up seven per cent of the NSLC's number of alcohol listings.

Business deals with the U.S. will also be curtailed.

"We will look for opportunities to cancel existing contracts and will maintain the option to reject bids outright because of President Trump's unlawful tariffs."
/—-/ Canadians can drive over the border to any of the border states and buy booze. They can also fill up on cheaper gas and get medical care without 6 month waiting list.

And easy for you to roll over. I doubt the Premiere shares your willingness to please Trump.
We are hitting back with tariffs and some blocking of products. Yay. Tit for tat.

Hitting specific states just opens up pandoras box to have Trump think, "hmm, maybe I can target Ontario or Quebec for special treatment as well", and then what good does that do us?

I want Canada to respond but it is HOW we respond. Ford was such a fool that his first instinct was to scream with his face all red and angry that he would "block all energy to Michigan". He is not the PM, he is not the negotiator. Even out West they said "you dont counter tariffs with a war-like step". I bet you this pissed off Trump when he heard it. Trump loved to get into the trenches with this stuff, Ford is a fake leader accustomed to his police state friends bullying Canadians. Trump is an entirely different enigma altogether and Canada should have had a plan.

I don't know where this all leads but Canada is playing a game of chess down a queen and a rook. All the blustering is actually worrying me because it suggests there is a greater risk we aren't being told about.

The irony of all this is that if Trump had won in 2020, he wouldn't be in power for the 2026 renegotiation so Bidens win hurt us multiple ways.

They'll have to pay for the medical care. As for the other--Canadians have pretty strict duties on what they can return with--LOL, Canada knows how to fleece their citizens.

I had to go to the emergency room earlier as my leg collapsed and I fell down a couple of my stairs. This is twice in two days where I have had a sudden drop, I'm starting to worry about MS.

I was given a number from intake and I had 60 people ahead of me. 60! The wait just to see a doctor would be 6 hours, another 2-4 hours for tests.

I went back home. This was after I found out a local walk in clinic closed down. I must have seen 100 people crammed into the E.R.

Doug Ford is a paper tiger coke freak.

If its any consolation, that has been the case in CA for decades in the ER between illegal immigrants and welfare cases, the paying public has excessive wait times.
