Probably nobody knows more abut the UKRAINE corruption scandal now breaking than Putin does. He probably knew about Burisma and the money laundering from the get go.
He probably knew when, where and who also. He was not going to stand there and just allow the corruption to cut him off from his only Naval Sea Port.....the decision was a no brainier for him. The Crimeans are happy....they got their SS checks tripled and most of them were Russian nationals anyway so they are just back home as far as they are concerned. The plan was to intefere in the Ukraine elections and then stop buying hydrocarbon fuels from Putin via the new NATO puppet government. Putin beat them at their own game and naturally the children of Burisma were pissed. Gazprom now manages the Crimean assets....
