I keep hearing that no other president had to provide a birth certificate. This can't be true because just to register for an election you had to provide proof that you are eligible. That means some kind of documentation that shows you are a natural born citizen and meet all the requirements found in the constitution unless you are saying that they don't ask for such things before running for president of the United States
