Sometimes presidents have to do things they would rather not do. FDR is known to have said, "I hate war" but he went to war with Germany, Italy, and Japan in WWII. President George H W Bush allowed the passage of the Democrat new taxes to avoid a government shutdown ( unlike todays Democrats like Schumer.) and paid the penalty for that. Both George W Bush and Donald Trump dealt with the real problems in the ME, unlike the Democrats who preferred to stick their heads in the sand.
