No More Tariffs? Rand Paul allegedly has the votes to stop them.

There's no twisting of words, rube. You're just not that bright. Of course there's no tariffs on American made products, you retard. Did you forget where you live? You wanna rethink that bullshit and try again?
/—-/ Well, you’re the first libtard to state that. The rest say tariffs will raise the cost of everything.

You realize that if people stop buying things, it will collapse the economy, right?

That means retailers will have to downsize their personnel if sales decline. That increases the number of the unemployed. Retailers are already under pressure

Here's a poem I remember from Mad Magazine in the 1970's... Probably even more true now.

Oh, give thanks ye small businessmen, who've managed to survive.
Be glad in this economy that you are still alive.
The price of goods keeps going up, inflation's running on.
So, give thanks you can buy cheap from Taiwan, good old Taiwan
So give thanks you can buy cheap from Taiwan!
/—-/ I was exaggerating to your fellow libtard.

Tariffs aren't a tax. A tax is forced on citizens, this is a tariff against nations. You don't have to buy such products. There is no law that says you must buy ANYTHING made in China.

No law. No tax. If you pay the price for the product than you accept the agreement.
Unless you are bringing in Labour Camps, no one is forcing anyone to work and make money either....

We do choose to work and make money, so that idea is pretty bad....

There are plenty of taxes people pay because they make choices....

All you really shown is that you either don't know what taxes are or want to change the definition of them...

The compulsory bit means it isn't optional if you buy the goods

Well, she's backing the wrong horse.

Guys like Pritzker who are standing against Trump's tyranny are the future, not quisling democrats like Whitless and Flubberman.
You haven't figured out you've been "backing the wrong horse" multiple times every day for 9 years now and been right under 100X out of all your posts. That's the epitome of crazy.

/—-/ I was exaggerating to your fellow libtard.

Doesn't matter.

You do get that when small businesses and large retailers sell less because prices are going up, they are going to inevitably close locations and lay people off, right? I mean, do you not get this?

So middle class people will lose their jobs, and will have to drive further to buy things they will be paying more for.

/----/ That's just plain dumb. Ever hear of Amazon and WMT online? You can shop for the best price without driving anywhere.
You need to cry harder.

People will likely buy less on Amazon as well.

You miss the point. Not sure if you are brain-damaged or what.

People actually LIKE shopping. I personally don't. But the fact that you can see a full parking lot at Walmart says people like wandering through the aisles looking at products.

But not so much if the products cost more and the purchases are elective.

Trump's tariffs will cause a recession, if we aren't in one already.

/---/ I didn't miss any point. You didn't distinguish between online and brick-and-mortar shoppers. You wrote, "So middle-class people will lose their jobs and will have to drive further to buy things they will be paying more for."
What about poor people? What about rich people? What are they going to do? Why did you single out the middle class? They will do the same thing they did when Blue state governors shut down their state economies over the Covid scam; they shopped online rather than drive to the stores allowed to be open.
Yours was just a stupid post.

you are wrong on both points.

Trump shut down the feds first, and governors followed, even in red states. Stores were not shut down nor was the river.
/----/ The blue states were punitive, the red states were lenient, and one state didn't shut down. And Trump wanted to reopen early, and the blue governors said, Hell no. We like the control over the little people. Cuomo sent seniors to their deaths in nursing homes.

Trump declares a national emergency to combat coronavirus

In a call with governors and at a White House news conference, the president marked the moment — which he called “open up America again“ — as a key step in reviving a devastated economy and an opportunity for state leaders to tailor a response to their individual needs. But he left many critical questions unanswered for the states, including how testing will be ramped up dramatically and where additional resources will come from to protect millions of front-line workers.

Trump ain't doing shit for the "little people" now is he? All he is doing is making the system unstable with his stable genius criminal mind.

/---/ And that is all on your hero Fauci the Quack, MD. Trump's mistake was not firing him.

I'm pointing out the middle class is going to be hit hardest. Rich people probably never spend a day waiting to shop. You are all over the map trying to rationalize Trump's royal fuckup, not that the recession has kicked off on his watch.
