No disrespect but... Susie Dent shares words public want axed

Oops, what is wrong with 'so' and 'basically'? I often use them in my sentences.

Strange, I often use 'basically' when I partially agree with the point, but want to make my objections.
It can be used to clarify a jumble of thoughts. Generally it is used to give your version of what the other has said. IE what you wanted them to say.

Some real stinkers on this list. I really hate sentences staarting with "So".
The rest of the list is pretty horrific and shows how language can be abused to basically lie to us.

More Tummy garbage with at most one out of the ten words/phrases fitting your made-up suggestion .
Did you actually look at the list and think whether there were common points of underlying identity? Of course not, otherwise you would not have written that absurd conclusion .

Some smack of" gobbledygook new-speak" , others seem patronising and reek of being insincere .
But there is no hint of a conspiracy to evolve language into ways of lying .

You regularly manage that all by yourself .
