Let's review.
The "fix" for Medicare is to confiscate the benefits, immediately, of everyone who maxed out their contribution over their working life, paid more than anyone else, and yet planned their life around it. Let's make it one more transfer of wealth atop the heap of all the other failed transfers of wealth, where two have to work for the benefits of one.
Medicare is not a "blank check." The remibursements suck and providers are dumping it left and right. The only thing government can do to contain costs is to force doctors to accept the same reimbursement for all health insurance that they do for Medicare and Medicaid. Then, let's see what happens next.
Americans are lucky to buy as much health care as they want.
Friend, I lost my Dad last May and have a 88 year old mother. Medicare IS blank check. The disease care doctors have it figured out. The reimbursements are to be paid within 30 days so fraud is rampant. The ONLY reimbursement area that "sucks" is primary care,doctorvisits for check ups and such which the elderly take advantage of. The disease care industry is very profitable. Home health care is a big fraud.
Get this: My father was 89 and the home health care billed 8 hours of speech therapy at $150 an hour 1 week before he died, 2 hours of OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY and 16 hours of a private nurse. All refered by a DOCTOR. And they tried to give himmood stabilizers and 12 other drugs. Combined for the 2 weeks before he died was 16K and Medicare paid. You get the paperwork in 3 months AFTER they pay the bill. Recent GAO studies, as reported on FOXa month ago, 25% of ALL Medicare is FRAUD.
We had Do Not Resucitate ORDERS in ALL the hospitals, all of the doctors Dad went to and al lof the health care home providers for18 months before he died.
They ignored them all and ran up $112,000.00. Medicare paid 80% of it and we refused to pay the balance. And I got to them and made them unhook Dad per his orders, living will and help from the Hospice. The language in the Obama bill, the few things that they got right,that allowed right to die counseling to bepaid forby medicare IS A GOOD THING.
And doctors and the health care industry fight it because they will not be able to dowhat they did to us anymore.
Believe me, Medicare is a rip off system and it is DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS and all in between that rip it off. All government does is pay the bills. It is a good thing they have cut the bills.
Do not believe the doctors. THEY LIE, CHEAT AND STEAL.
