An estimated 200 Christians were killed in Nigeria on Friday according to a Catholic charity.

The massacre in Nigeria’s Benue State targeted internally displaced families living in shelters, Aid to the Church in Need reported.

The attack in Yelewata took place with attackers shouting “Allahu Akbar” (a Muslim phrase meaning “god is great”), before indiscriminate killing began.

About 500 people were sleeping in a shelter where the attack took place.

Initial reports said 100 people were killed in the three-hour massacre, but that was later increased to a death toll of 200.

“The death toll makes it the single worst atrocity in the region, where there have been a sudden upsurge in attacks and increasing signs that a concerted militant assault is underway to force an entire community to leave,” the charity reported.






Rev. Ukuma Jonathan Angbianbee, the local priest, said he and others barely escaped alive.

“When we heard the shots and saw the militants, we committed our lives to God. This morning, I thank God I am alive,” he said.

“What I saw was truly gruesome. People were slaughtered. Corpses were scattered everywhere."

“There is no question about who carried out the attack. They were definitely Fulanis. They were shouting ‘Allahu Akbar,’” he said, referring to a group of Islamic extremists.

I have always compared Islam to being the pit bulls of humanity. On average, if you own a pit bull the dog is probably just fine, and owners swear by them as being good dogs. But if you hear of a case where a dog kills someone, 9 times out of 10 it is a pit bull. Why? It's because that particular brand of dog was bred to fight and kill.

And so it goes, the theology within Islam contains jihad, that is, declaring war against anyone or any group of people you deem to be unjust. Well guess what, from the bowels of humanity injustice is a 24/7, 365 days a year enterprise that never stops and never will stop. Should the reaction then be 24/7, 365 days a year violence to combat it? This is why Christ gave the example of turning the other cheek. As you offer your oppressor the other cheek, it conveys a message that I am not the problem here and gives them pause to think about the oppression they just inflicted upon you because you do not render evil for evil. That is not to say this should be employed at every turn, as seen with Jesus driving out the money changers with a whip example, but you get the idea. It takes wisdom on how to deal with oppression with the only goal of ending it instead of the goal of vengeance as it repeats itself in a never ending cycle of violence and death for both sides.

That is why Islamic countries have the most terrorism within them. They are the most violent, and it all spreads from the various theologies of jihad. Naturally, there is not 100% agreement upon those theologies, but there is enough to incite a broad coalition of Muslims who engage in terrorism across the globe.

But the most tragic element of Islam is when you combine it with the mentally ill. Mental illness and Islam is a deadly combination, much like mental illness and Leftism is a deadly combination in the US as we have seen. And this is where Islam and the Left agree, that is, violence is advocated to push social justice and it does not really matter how you go about it. So, as you see Tesla dealerships go up in flames, and conservative justices and conservative Presidents and the entire GOP Congress almost get assassinated, along with CEO's they don't like the run health care corporations, you start to understand that the Left has their own brand of jihad.

Unfortunately, every society has a wealth of mentally ill people that will be exploited by both the Left and Islam to do their bidding.
