The NFL is in a spiral as the boycotts of the NFL for players taking a knee during the National Anthem.
The NFL Commissioner has been anything BUT consistent, punishing players for other protests and acts of drawing attention to other causes.
After a debatable tenure as NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell is asking for something like a $50 Million contract and his own personal plane...for life. Remarkably, NFL owners want to give it to him....all except for ONE: Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones.
You can criticize Jones for a lot of things...but being the sanest one in the room, balking at this ridiculous contract extension request when compared to the job Goodell has done, is NOT one of them.
Several owners have stated that Jones' opposition to this new contract extension request / offer 'is hurting the NFL.
Bwuhahaha.... What is hurting the NFL is the continuing insistence of NFL players to insult the National Anthem, this country, and our vets by making their protest about them by staging their protest at a moment in the game that is supposed to be for respecting the country and our vets.
Again, opposing a $50 Million contract offer that includes a free private plane for life makes Jones look like the smartest NFL owner in the room...and I can't remember a time when that was the case, if ever.
