Next out of NYC: Goldman Sachs

A city or a state is not a desert island. Make it inhospitable and people will go where they're wanted, where doing business is easier and more profitable.

People get elected, convince themselves it's a "mandate", and then go too goddamn far. People don't learn.

Too bad, NY.

I think the Marxists thought that not many companies & rich folks would ultimately leave.

Mamdani is not afraid. NYC, NY and the DNC probably already have a plan for the rest of the country to support all the failing socialist programs going on so that corrupt socialists can somehow get rich scamming the programs. All they need is for the dumocraps to get control of the house again. Soon the biggest employer in NYC will be the federal government and the only opportunities for work are federally funded Learing Centers. All paid for by the states that are thriving.

Unfortunately, the Mondami model is what your party has adopted as a goal for our whole country. Not good.

Here’s where Mac1958 starts lying to everyone about his support of today’s democrat socialist.
Trump is a DEMOCRATIC NAZI. 😁

What I do not get is that the commies claim RICH PEOPLE ARE BAD. SO THEY VOTE FOR A RICH PERSON?

HUH?

No, he is a GOOD rich person who will steal from the rich and give to the poor! Mayor Robin Hood.

He’s robbin for the hood.

They just look for a slick talker, that says what they want to hear.

Socialism is a disease.

The Commies have been running on: “Vote for me, I will give you free schitt.” forever.

It does seem to often work. 😕

"Goldman Sachs has done the math, and the math says, relocate"
Texas and Utah are the destination, NYC loses again.
Mamdani might be showing signs of panic at this stage.

"The problem with Socialism is, that eventually you run out of other people's money".

Thus proving every Houstonian's view that Dallas is not part of Texas. 🇺🇸🤠

Many fall into that trap. Part of it is the education system.
Which they are busy destroying.

Public Education is so poor these days.

High School Seniors who do not know the word “EXTRAORDINARY”?

Wow.

MATH IS RACIST! THEY GOT RID OF HIGH LEVEL MATH IN MANY PUBLIC SCHOOLS BECAUSE IT IS RACIST! 😂

It's all going according to the Progressive plan They're not stupid, they're as destructive as Republicans, just in a different way

Goldman Sachs is reducing its New York workforce and relocating managers to lower-cost cities like Dallas and Salt Lake City as part of its “Project Voyage” initiative.

Workforce

Goldman Sachs has implemented multiple rounds of layoffs at its New York headquarters, affecting hundreds of employees. In 2025 alone, the firm cut over 900 roles in New York, including 317 positions at 200 West Street, its global headquarters, effective August 11, 2025, and additional reductions earlier in the year targeting vice presidents and mid-level staff. These layoffs are part of the bank’s annual performance review cycle and broader cost-cutting strategy, rather than a sudden exit from the city.

Strategic

Beyond layoffs, Goldman Sachs is actively relocating managers from New York to emerging hubs such as Dallas, Texas, and Salt Lake City, Utah. This initiative, known internally as Project Voyage, aims to reduce operating costs, tap talent pipelines in growing regions, and optimize office space usage. Managers are given a choice: relocate to these lower-cost cities or leave the firm. The Dallas office, for example, is projected to expand from 4,600 to 5,000 employees by 2028, with a $500 million campus under development.

Reasons

The move is driven by several factors:

Implications

While Goldman Sachs is not abandoning New York entirely, the firm is scaling back high-cost roles and shifting some operations to lower-cost regions. This affects vice presidents, mid-level managers, and support staff disproportionately, while the firm continues to hire selectively in other locations. The strategy reflects a broader trend in the financial industry to balance talent distribution, cost management, and operational flexibility.

In summary, Goldman Sachs is reducing its New York footprint through layoffs and strategic relocations, focusing on cost efficiency and geographic diversification, rather than a complete exit from the city.
