This reminds me of Satchel Paige, the negro baseball player who was put into the Hall of Fame because of DEI considerations. They tried to use his stats from the Negro League which were very questionable, but even if you added up those suspect stats with his slim MLB stats, you still wouldn't have a Hall of Fame resume. So the DEI folks say "Had Paige had the opportunity to play a full MLB career, he would have made the Hall". Well, boo hoo. Lot of players can say that. "Had this one or that one not gotten injured, or stayed sober, or blah blah, he would have made the Hall." Coulda woulda shoulda doesn't get it, and neither should it for Satchel Paige.

Trump, like the left, understands the importance of seemingly innocuous social issues in changing the culture. The left knows these issues like promoting LGBT and tearing down statues can help undo a country. Trump knows reversing them can help fix it.

I dont think the left is trying to erase people. But they would like to be historically accurate.
It doesnt really pertain to this situation. This was a brave man who was shot 3 times fighting for his country. His country recognised that and honoured him.

Im not aware of any otherr factors that would alter this.

Its not as if he tried to rape a woman in a changing room. Or paid off another woman he assaulted. Or defrauded a cancer charity.

Why is he now not worthy of recognition ?
