You know, this hyperpartisan crap has to stop. Did she "order" or "okay" it? Doesn't really matter, because 1) she is FLOTUS, and 2) the tree was a serious hazard because it had been rotted so badly that it was no longer capable of standing, even with all the reinforcing cables to help out.
Now................think about this.................if any of us had a large tree in front of our house that had turned like the one at the WH, 99 percent of us would have the tree removed because it's a hazard. Yeah, it was also part of the history, but to keep things that might kill you around just because of history is kinda stupid. Buildings you can renovate and rebuild, but living things like trees, well..........when they die and go bad, you have to remove them.
Down here in Amarillo, there are times that trees die because of the drought that we have had, and they must be removed. I've seen neighbors remove some very nice trees out of their yard because they were half dead. I've also seen the park remove trees that had been there a long time, but because they died, they needed to be removed and new ones planted in their place.
Melania was told that the tree was no longer viable. She agreed that it was no longer viable and as FLOTUS, she was in a position of authority, so yeah, it could be considered an order.
But. A sensible one.
Lay off of Melania. Yeah, I don't appreciate Trump or his family very much because I don't like his style of leadership. It's pretty much against everything that I learned in the military about leadership.
But removing the tree makes sense. Lay off the hyperpartisan crap.
