There is one big difference in the direction of the words.

The tea party spoke of being the agressor.

This man did not say he was going to target TP people and find second amendment solutions to their policies.

Apropos of that, today is the anniversary of the Whiskey Rebellion...

August 7, 1794 The Whiskey Rebellion : Farmers in the Monongahela Valley of Pennsylvania rebel against the federal tax on liquor and distilled drinks.
On this day, Washington raised the militia and put down the rebellion.

No shots were fired and all were pardoned. But the government understood what could happen were it unresponsive to the people, and the Whiskey tax was repealed in 1803.
