New songs by Taylor Swift getting millions of YouTube views.

She is a very good singer, but not great. But that's not her genius. It's songwriting. Her music is easy to listen to because her songs are well-crafted, clever and/or infectious. OTOH, while Adele is a cracker jack singer, you focus almost primarily on her voice, not her songs. Neither is correct or wrong; they're just different talents.

Adele is an emotional wreck, and it shows. And her tendency to dress like an opera singer disconnects her from the likely demographic she could hold. And, no matter what progressive media tries to tell you - obesity puts a major handicap on your ability to get an audience.
They are completely different in every way.

I am sorry, but anyone who says Swift is a "very good singer" is just saying it because they are a fan. An objective person, who has no particular like or dislike of her, only sees an average singer.
She is who she is because she has major star-power. Her looks, her personality and ability to really connect with her audience is everything for her. And it shows. I mean, her fans say she is a very good singer.... so....

Her first few albums, I would agree--not a good singer. But she put in the work and now is, yes, a very good singer. For one, her range is insane. Easily over three octaves

3 octaves is pretty normal for a professional singer.
Lady Gaga has the same range, but the quality and pitch she has leaves Swift in the dust.
Beyonce also 3.5 octaves - but again the quality and pitch is levels above Swift.
It is just true, and everyone knows it. No one would say Taylor Swift and Beyonce are equally good singers. You would get laughed out of the room.

And the degree in music only makes it worse. Swifties will praise Swift no matter what, I get it. But as a non subscriber I can see her for what she is a brilliant performer that connects with her audience better than almost anyone. But pure musical/singing talent-wise... nothing special.

It is like comparing Michael Jackson and Prince.
Prince had more musical talent in his discarded fingernails than Jackson. But Jackson was SUPER heavily promoted by the labels as well as MTV. The same as Swift - Jackson was a performer on steroids and had the same ability to connect to his audience. Jackson promoted the hell out of himself 24 hours a day just like Swift. Prince was a recluse at heart, disdained interviews and being in front of cameras off stage.
Now years later - Prince is held as a music God while Jackson is largely forgotten by everyone but his die hard fans.
Swift will be the same. 30 years from now no one will be playing her songs. It is just true.

My point is TS could do a cover of the Oscar Mayer Weiner jingle and still get a zillion hits, and send her sheep fans into a mindless hypnotic trance.....like her other 'songs'
do..

But I can name 20 female singers off the top of my head who rise above Taylor Swift talent-wise, including Kylie Morgan.

She released something like 12 new songs yesterday ,which have collectively had over 50 million views on YouTube alone ! Far more than most will ever get in their entire lifespans

This one leads the pack with almost 7 million hits so far.

In my opinion, the most beautiful overrated musician ever .
