I went out to dinner with a far-left Democrat, who first insisted that we be allowed to sit on the outside patio (which was not open). She bitched until they finally gave in, and that meant the waiter had to go out of his way to serve us - carrying trays through the heavy glass doors. She next complained to the waiter about her dinner, so he had to go back and get it re-done.

Then she spent the whole time talking about how the working class need to be paid more, and how can they expect waiters and store clerks to get by on so little pay. And blah, blah, blah.

THEN the bill came. We both ordered the same thing, and my 20% came to $4.60. I rounded up to $5, saying how hard he worked. She looked SHOCKED, and said “no way…..” took out her calculator, and counted out EXACTLY 15% - $3.45. She couldn’t even round it up to $3.50! (Plus, she’s a lawyer, earning well into 6-figures.)

As I said, generous with OTHER people’s money.

Making it to the end of the road in high school really frees young guys to go out there and hustle.

When I graduated from high school the only government hand out was free cheese now and then through some government rescue the dairy farmers program. No welfare. No food stamps. It never occurred to us that it was anybody's responsibility but ourselves to provide for or take care of us after graduation.

We were among some of the nation's most poor then, but we didn't expect to stay in that category and we didn't. We worked our way out of it. It was a much healthier America in many ways then.
