More than three-quarters (78%) of the public say they want Congress to extend the enhanced tax credits available to people with low and moderate incomes to make the health coverage purchased through the Affordable Care Act’s Marketplace more affordable, a new KFF Health Tracking Poll finds. That’s more than three times the share (22%) who say they want Congress to let the tax credits expire.

Most Republicans (59%) and “Make American Great Again” supporters (57%) favor extending the enhanced tax credits, which otherwise would expire at the end of the year and require Marketplace customers to pay much more in premiums to retain coverage. Larger majorities of Democrats (92%) and independents (82%) also support extending the enhanced tax credits, as do most people who buy their own health insurance, most of whom purchase through the Marketplace (84%).

Both 47 and Republicans in the House and the Senate are trying Democrats for the shut-down. That is a lie. Republicans are responsible this crap. They know they need Democrats to pass the budget, Dems need to hang tough. Americans need their health care.

It all depends on how you frame the question. "Do you want free health care for illegals" gets a different response from "Do you think the poor deserve health care?" If everyone knew exactly what the left was asking for, they wouldn't support it. But the leftwing media makes sure it's never explained to them. For example, has CNN ever pointed out to people that Democrats are demanding the claw back of the already-approved Big Beautiful Bill? No. Mike Johnson had to point that out for them.

This is the POST of the day. It really is how the questions are worded.

Yup. My brother was crying today that what Trump is doing to the ACA, is going to cost him big.

This isn't even considering the $2500 more he is going to have to pay this year because of tariffs. My brother pays for private insurance for him, his wife and 2 kids who are in college. This is going to cost him A LOT. Suddenly, he's talking about how he would vote for a Democrat if they would stop with the woke shit. I told him it's the Republicans who bring up woke. They did that to sucker you pal. Now you're going to pay for it.

Huh.... I guess your headline was kind of a lie. They support tax credits, not higher taxes. Free shit!!!!!

You could float him a loan but no, you want me to pay for it.

He should drop coverage on the college kids.

Democrats are facing challenges with their own sunset regulations in the new continuing resolution (CR) as they negotiate funding measures that include provisions to extend health care subsidies and reverse Medicaid cuts. This internal conflict highlights the complexities of bipartisan negotiations and the differing priorities between the parties.
The proposed CR includes measures to extend certain programs and funding that are at risk of expiration, particularly those related to health care and environmental initiatives.

How can Democrats "stop the woke shit?" It is the core of their identity.

Why doesn't your bro have a job? That's where almost everyone besides illegal aliens get their health care insurance.

Europe to introduce Global Carbon Tax soon. Nu Nu Nu...Nu World Order. It will spread to the planet to get the peasants used to it. the elites use us to fund everything they want. Never themselves.

You mean people want more freebies? Who'd of thunk it.

I had an eye opener this weekend. The owner of my company sent her son to America from Germany to fix what's broken over here. I took him out on my boat. He was blown away. No one in Germany can afford a boat like I have. They may make as much as we do but they are taxed a lot more than we are. So ultimately, they can't get "rich" like we can here. In America, a middle class person can save and become wealthy.

And over there, if you make under $100K, everything is free. Over $100K, you pay. If you pay for private insurance, you get the same insurance as people who get free public insurance. Wait in line. Even though YOU pay.

Now I see what you cons are saying. We don't want to go that way but that is the way we are going. Obamacare. Yea, not good. Successful people are paying for it.

And my brother has $15 MILLION dollars in the bank. But he too was getting Obamacare subsidies. Because he no longer works for a corporation. He buys private insurance for him, his wife and 2 college kids. So now he's going to be paying $3000 a month.

Either way, healthcare is a mess and we can do better than this. We just don't want to go socialism. I get that now. It's going to make healthcare worse for me but better for slackers.

Cool story, bro.
Is this the first time you hearing about my brother? I know how the other half lives. He lives pretty modestly compared to his CEO bosses. They make him look poor.

He also has 60 acres up north Michigan, a place in Greece and a condo in Florida. 4 homes. And even he is saying he would vote for a Democrat as long as they stop the WOKE Tranny DEI shit and keep the border closed.

Trump is starting to cost everyone more money. "have you seen the stock market lately?" only goes so far with people. When their healthcare premiums go up and we see the economy sucks, and he's making us look bad with the rest of the world, our allies are walking away from us, our enemies laughing at us. Especially after that meeting with the Generals and Military Parade? OMG what a joke we are now with Pete and Donald.

Well, you see, tax cut extensions for the rich are good.

Tax credits for the poor are communism.

That's why those tax credits were taken away from the poor so the tax cut extensions for the rich would be offset.

Get your mind right, son.

The answer is insurance reform that will bring insurance costs down to be affordable for the vast majority of Americans. Medicaid will cover the truly poor.

Everybody is poorer when something is so unaffordable it requires government subsidies in order for people to have it. And those government subsidies ensure that the product will remain unaffordable without those government subsidies.

Whatever public services the federal government gets involved in almost invariably results in greatly escalated costs that more often than not make those services unaffordable without government subsidies and intervention. It happened in healthcare. It happened in higher education.

Insurance companies cannot stay in business if nobody can afford their products. So they have to make those products affordable.

Should I get pregnant at my age, it would be a miracle of Biblical proportions. But Obamacare still requires that I and the 50-yr-old woman who has had a hysterectomy are still required to pay for OB-GYN coverage when there is no way we will ever need that. And yet OB-GYN is one of the most expensive insurances due to the high risk of lawsuit. We should be able to pay for the coverage we need at a lower cost.

And that lower cost should also lower the huge deductibles and copays that go into the more 'affordable' Obamacare policies. Those high deductibles and copays have resulted in millions not getting healthcare to avoid those high costs.

I don't know your brother, kid. Regardless, hard to feel sympathy for an adult man who cries over the cost of healthcare while sitting on $15,000,000 in the bank.
