It should have no bearing. So if she got the job because she’s a lesbian then there’s fair criticism. How is one's sexuality in any way relevant to fulfilling the duties of this office?
Yes, EMS is much tougher and takes a lot more brains! And? There's a huuuuge difference between EMS, and firefighting.
Tougher, no. Requires more brains? Possibly.Yes, EMS is much tougher and takes a lot more brains!
Hegseth did NOT have anything approaching a "serious military career". In 11 years, he had one promotion. Hardly a "serious" career at all. He was basically drummed out of the military because he was a "security risk", and for his drinking and affairs.
Hegseth has ZERO qualifications for the job. The Signal chat mess proves he truly is a "security risk". At this point, he's also guilty of war crimes, and will hopefully be facing charges when MAGA gets the boot.

Pete Hegseth Is Unfit To Lead the Pentagon
Pete Hegseth lacks the credibility and experience required to lead a body as massive and as critical as the Department of Defense; his confirmation as secretary of defense would be a major risk to Americans’ safety and security.www.americanprogress.org
The decision-making process is light years more difficult. My son-in-law is a retired firefighter. He also was Air National Guard for 22 years and the head of their crash crew. He was qualified to be a fire chief except he lacked his EMT certification. My daughter was also an EMT training to be a paramedic and she had to help him pass the class. Most firefighters cannot be paramedics because they don't have the educational background for the medicine. Very few do. He now works as an EMT for a hospital ambulance crew. However, he was the guy you would want to pull you out of a crash, car wreck or fire. He is 6 foot 7 and about 250 pounds of muscle. I look like a little kid standing beside him and I'm not small.Tougher, no. Requires more brains? Possibly.
And?She's never been a fireman.
Yep.Yes, EMS is much tougher and takes a lot more brains!
The and should be pretty obvious. And?

You know, the workforce that addresses at least 70% of all calls coming into FDNY?” Mamdani wrote in a post on the social platform X.OP has a lot of issues with other people's sex lives.

Wow, she sounds pretty qualified to me, especially since the FDNY spends far more resources responding to EMT Calls than they do putting out fires.

She has 31 years in FDNY, working and living alongside firefighters. She has proven leadership and large scale management experience, ending her career as FDNY EMS Chief.Awesome! In all likelihood, she knows virtually nothing about managing a metro fire department, so the carnage is going to be spectacular!
Looking forward to it! New Yorkers are going to get everything they deserve.![]()

FDNY Commissioner is a purely management/political position. She has a Fire Chief to advise on firefighting.
The guy that Adams appointed only listed "following fire trucks as a kid" as his experience.
Really?And?
