Hegseth did NOT have anything approaching a "serious military career". In 11 years, he had one promotion. Hardly a "serious" career at all. He was basically drummed out of the military because he was a "security risk", and for his drinking and affairs.


Hegseth has ZERO qualifications for the job. The Signal chat mess proves he truly is a "security risk". At this point, he's also guilty of war crimes, and will hopefully be facing charges when MAGA gets the boot.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Everyone has a specific job in any department. Cross-training is one thing, but experience is totally different. You can show an EMS tech how to hold a hose in controlled situations, but that doesn't mean they're even remotely competent in the real thing. Real fires are extremely dangerous and physically draining compared to "cross-training". Knowing what to do and what not to do comes from experience doing the real thing.

It's like telling a sheet-metal worker to fix plumbing. They may be in the same department, but they don't really know each other's jobs.

But now, even if some of the reasons aren't "fair", I think affirmative action or DEI needs to end. Not completely, but they need to take it down a notch or 2. In other words, don't force it. Just try to recognize your bias against blacks and women and TRY to make your work force more diverse. Consider your bias is keeping blacks and women from promotions or even out of your company. Or your policies are. I'll give you an example. We only hire family here at ABC company. Of course everyone there is white. How's a black gonna get hired there unless he marries some white guys sister? They can have that policy if they want. Just no federal government contracts to companies who don't have X amount of minorities or women at their company. I don't know what the percentage is with Democrats but I think a company should be at least 10% diverse to get a government contract.

While almost all Fortune 500 companies (485 out of 500) maintain some level of DEI (Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion) commitment, with many updating policies, only about one-third (around 154 in 2023) publish dedicated DEI reports, and a significant number are rebranding to "belonging" or focusing on "inclusive language"

Women make up 50% of our workforce. Do I think 50% of CEO's should be women? No. As of mid-2025, women lead approximately 11% of Fortune 500 companies

I know but easy for us to say that as women and blacks are being overlooked for decades and every time we just said "sorry, the best person got the job" and often times that wasn't true.

We know that bias plays a role with hiring managers. We know white men interviewing are deciding "who do I want to spend 8 hours a day with for the next 40 years".

The problem is, now we see black and women hiring managers doing it.

We also see the black or women is harder on employees. They need to "prove themselves" to the CEO. So they are worse than the white man they took over for. Ironic huh?

Great example is my sister in laws school hired a Muslim Principle. The Muslim teachers don't **** with her. If she was a Christian, they'd be playing that "I can't because of my religion" or "I need time off because of my religion" or they can't accuse her of discrimination.

The appointee is 31 year veteran of the department. Holds a 4 star ranking. She was the Chief officer of the EMS Academy.
And? There's a huuuuge difference between EMS, and firefighting.
