Researchers have developed a special lamp that kills the flu virus but doesn’t hurt humans.

The special ultraviolet lamp destroys the influenza virus but isn’t harmful to skin or eyes, a new study suggests. The hope is that the technology can be widely commercialized and made available to prevent the spread of seasonal flu in public places.

This technology has been around for decades but I do like the fact they have narrowed the effective radiation bands so that it is safe for human eyes and skin exposure.
