Obviously, most of the Trump supporters here are simply refusing to follow the televised Senate debates — not even the really pathetic Trump lawyer’s arguments. Trump supporters will not likely follow the trial at all. This is a pity, as the Constitutional issues are clear and important, quite unlike in the first Trump impeachment.
Trump’s main lawyer appeared remarkably incoherent, as even Professor Dershowitz dismissively noted on TV. The great majority of Constitutional lawyers, including in the Federalist society and among Trump appointees and Conservative judges, seem to agree that Trump absolutely can be legally tried and convicted by the Senate. This was made quite clear in the House Managers presentations.
Of course most Republican Senators seem not to give a damn about a lame duck President of their own party — clearly defeated in an election where electoral votes where confirmed by 50 individual states (and appeals roundly rejected by our courts) — unrepentantly cavorting while his followers fought their way into a joint session of Congress to keep him illegally in power.
If Trump is not roundly repudiated, our country may just continue down the drain, as mobs, politicians and domestic terrorists increasingly feel emboldened to try to violently influence political decisions at the highest levels.

Even right-wing pundits had no clue what Bruce Castor was doing during his impeachment trial speech
"I have no idea what he is doing," Alan Dershowitz said.
