Never Let A Crisis Go To Waste

Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass are Refusing to Allow People to Rebuild Their Houses in the Pallisades.

Shocking that a democrat would break his or her word, isn't it? I've never heard of such a thing before....

Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass promised Californians who lost their homes in their engineered firestorm that there would be reduced red-tape to allow reconstruction to begin within weeks.

More than six months later, not a single home has been rebuilt. In fact, not a single construction has even started.

People suspected that Newsom and Bass would not let this crisis go to waste and would seize people's property in order to build apartment buildings for the poor.

That's exactly what they're doing. They're refusing to grant permits to let people rebuild, so that their multimillion-dollar properties become effectively valueless.

Then they're going to offer peanuts to buy these distressed, deliberately-impoverished landowners out.

And here's another shocker, kids:

For too long we've let "The Professionals" run our government for us. It's easier that way. Don't have to pay attention to what's going on, who's-who, etc.

Conservatives figured, "Hey, smart guy with a Law Degree, he's gotta know better than us, right? Plus, he 's in a nice Suit."

Then it turns out that all those Smart Guys, in Nice Suits with Law Degrees? They're thieves. Lying, thieving scumbags.

As Conservatives, we don't like Politics. Our Founders didn't either. We don't like Politicians, even our own. Neither did our Founding Fathers.

So we walked away from the nasty business of Politics and -- Guess who moved in?

the dimocrap scum party isn't about a philosophy. They have none. At all. They can't even explain their 'philosophy' themselves. Know why? THEY DON'T HAVE ONE!!

the dimocrap scum party is about stealing money. It's what they do. It's what most politicians do, if I'm being honest. But dimocrap scum take it too far.

They don't take 10% "Off The Top" for themselves. They're stealing 30 - 40% of tax money. They'll steal everything that isn't tied down. It's what they do. It is why they exist. It is who they are.

It's way past time we took our government back and sent these thieving scum back to the streets they came from.

Imagine you had a $1m cottage 100 yds from sand. Paid off. Now you got a fight with state farm over $330K dwelling cost or something? What do you do? Where do you go? $2500 1br APT on the 4th floor at 70 years old? No car survived. No parking at APT.

If the dwelling is insured for $300k and The Farm is willing to pay that, what's the beef?

You can't insure the property, the land. Only structures.

Banks make people get insurance to cover a loan, including on the property. But the Insurance Company isn't going to pay for more than what they actually insure -- The Structure.

How do you insure Land? Can you steal it? Can you burn it? Can you knock it down with the wind-- What?? And anything that you could do to Land to destroy it isn't going to be covered anyway.

But Banks have never been known for being overly intelligent anyway.

In fire-ravaged Los Angeles, an idea so bad even its sponsor has now disowned it

17 Jul 2025 ~~ By Monica Showalter

In California, some radical far-left ideas don't seem to be drawing the applause they were expected to draw.
Which brings us to one state Sen. Ben Allen, a Santa Monica statehouse senator who put out a proposed law so stinky, so stanky, so vile, he skedaddled backward as fast as his little legs would carry him.
At a time when the County of Los Angeles has withheld rebuilding permits for all but seven of the 17,000 homeowners who lost their homes in the fires they caused, Allen's SB 549 authorized the state to go around buying up burned properties in fire-ravaged areas, including Altadena and Pacific Palisades, and converting those lots into crime-box high-rise apartment projects for the benefit of the homeless and the "justice-involved individuals."
It made sense from a leftist point of view. Many leftists have gone into low-income housing construction -- and could potentially benefit from construction of crime-box apartments to house bums and criminals who belong in jail.

Here is his groveling explanation:

That said, this is a major defeat for a monstrous idea, a double-slap in the face of those who had lost their homes based on city negligence -- failure to clear brush, failure to keep fire trucks and hydrants in working order, failure to fill the reservoir built to fight fires, and all the other positively criminal negligence coming from city and county officials, and now failure to issue rebuilding permits -- but who have grand plans to put bums and criminals first, getting them squared away before the locals are allowed to rebuild.
And don't imagine this isn't part of the plan -- they have yet to issue rebuilding permits to those affected, but still demand property taxes, two-thirds of which are based on the value of the land, on the burned lots, which is forcing many to sell even though they don't want to. What better a setup for nonprofit and homeless housing construction?
Everyone saw through it, and Newsom himself, who has presidential ambitions, probably told Allen to "pause" it.
It stinks. It stinks so bad even its sponsor has probably been forced to disavow it.

Commentary:
These people in California politics are very scary. This is exactly what smart people have warned us against. It’s exactly what they feared.
First the DSA Democrat Left took over California politics by one dirty trick after another, but it’s not enough for them. They mow want to give tyrannical communism another try.
Not everyone who had lived in California is rich enough to simply live elsewhere, waiting forever for building permits. While I doubt anyone owning a home there was poor, after this some of them might become newly the poor.
California lawmakers are the culprits in this disaster, by imposing water regulations to restrict water use to the people and farmers and ultimately even fire fighting all a a fish no one is interested in, or an owl that is thriving.
Through it all the Governor, Sacramento the legislature and Mayor Karen Bass are ultimate responsible.
Unless the people of California wake up and get rid of these political albatrosses the state will never prosper because the people with business sense, wealth and smarts are leaving.
Silicon Valley is experiencing a trend of companies relocating from California to other states due to factors like high costs of living and strict regulations. Despite this, it remains a major hub for tech innovation and investment, although its share of tech jobs in the U.S. has declined recently.
Meanwhile, Hollywood is facing significant challenges, with many filmmakers moving their productions to other cities like Atlanta and New York due to better financial incentives. This shift has resulted in a notable decline in on-location filming in Los Angeles, marking a troubling trend for the industry.
