Can't you let a movie just be a movie? You honestly believe a US president would ignore an event that would destroy the whole planet in 6 months. Even if we had such a stupid president, political pressure and the media would force him to act.
Although the first half hour or so was funny, as the move drug on, the humor got less funny and more depressing.
yes, but the acting and the storyline need to be believable. Can't you let a movie just be a movie?
Most movies have us suspend reality, especially parody.
I didn't find the destruction of the planet funny, but maybe I just have a weird sense of humor.IT's COMEDY, ASSHOLE!
I was responding to your statement that it's an accurate portrayal of the ineptitude of government. Can't you let a movie just be a movie?

I agree, the events may be unbelievable but the response of actors need to be.yes, but the acting and the storyline need to be believable.
Example: Star Wars is not real. We all know it isn't real. But what if Darth Vaders voice sounded like a duck and he a wore bright green suit? Pretty much ruin the movie no?
All movies require a certain amount of reality suspension, obviously. But the characters need to be believable.
Another example, in movies that have shoutouts. Why do they have the characters shown reloading guns. We all know it isn't real. Yeah... to make it believable.
Saw a preview, ONCE.Looks like it triggered some.
I’m watching it now. As the late radio host Imus used to say,All the right ingredients... huge star studded cast, super star main actors... funny story line... what could go wrong?
Apparently, everything.
We lasted about 30 minutes and couldn't take it anymore.
It was as if everyone met together and decided to shoot the whole movie in one day, no retakes allowed. Because the movie just flat out did not flow well.
It is a hot mess, like random scenes thrown together.
De Caprio was actually pretty good. He played the character well. Jennifer Lawrence, on the other hand, over played the role like a high school drama queen. It was terrible.
The movie is "free"... if you want to try it, go ahead... just don't say you wasn't warned.
Although funny at times, I consider it a poor sci-fic . Not sure if it has a message, and if it does, it misses badly. It's like "Mars Attacks"
It is a big boring wokefest… they are trying to draw a false equivalent to denial of climate change with the fools in this movie caring more about other things then a real threat. Of course the villains are capitalism and right-wingers.All the right ingredients... huge star studded cast, super star main actors... funny story line... what could go wrong?
