This is amazing. Yay! It did brighten my day.

Now let's see if I earn my teacher cred today. You say he was a "mess" in kindergarten. My assessment from this pic after teaching thousands and thousands of children over nearly 30 years is that this is a very active kid with maybe a short attention span but with a good heart and a lot of potential. He *wants* to do well and just needed some focus and training.

Good for you. Pride in your own accomplishments is pretty good, but it doesn't compare with the joy of seeing your progeny succeed.
