If Babbitt truly WAS the threat you claim she was then those three Swat officers standing at the top of the stairwell would have done something but if you look at the video of the shooting you'll note that the one closest to Babbitt is pointing his weapon not at the protesters but in the direction of Byrd. That's who HE felt threatened by! The moron who'd just discharged his weapon in the same direction that some of his fellow law enforcement brothers were standing!

Claiming that Babbitt "might" have had a bomb in her back pack as the reason for opening fire is nothing more than a pathetic attempt by Byrd at coming up with an excuse for shooting an unarmed female protester at point blank range without warning! He knows what he did and the reason he lied about it later...claiming that he did issue a warning when it's obvious from audio recordings that day that he did not do so...is that he knows how bad it looks shooting someone without warning. It's telling that Byrd refused to give a statement on what happened that day until he spoke to a lawyer. Everyone else involved had no problem providing statements but Byrd lawyered up to get his story straight...a story that is FULL of holes!
