"Golden State Warriors player Andrew Wiggins has received the COVID-19 vaccine, his coach Steve Kerr said Sunday. Wiggins had applied for a religious exemption, but the NBA said it "reviewed and denied" the request last month. The NBA denied Wiggins' request for a religious exemption citing -- no major religion prohibits its followers from taking a vaccine.

NBA arenas for the Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks are under local mandates requiring entertainment venues to only allow vaccinated people to enter. In those three arenas, unvaccinated players without proof of at least one vaccination shot would be barred from competition. The NBA reached a 95% vaccination threshold of its players since the opening of training camp, according to ESPN"

So the NBA is essentially participating in religious persecution of their players....Andrew Wiggins grew up in Canada and obviously was raised a devoutly religious Christian ....and we all know that receiving vaccines is against the teachings of Christ. However, he stood to lose 15 million dollars in income this year if he didn't get vaccinated so he had no choice. Yea, he could have just decided to not play at all; but why should someone have to do that just to stand up for their beliefs??

It is never ok for an employer and or government to punish you for standing up for your beliefs, especially religious beliefs....unless they are beliefs you don't like...for example, why didn't the NBA force these players to stand up for the anthem by threatening to take away their paychecks? Any belief that doesn't require you to stand for our anthem is a belief that should be attacked.

I feel sorry for him. I hope he isn't so upset he doesn't fall off that mountain of money he's sitting on.
