Navy set to rename USNS Harvey Milk, mulls new names for other ships named for civil rights leaders

Nothing like hauling away the statues and icons of Confederate war criminals, I mean...war heroes...

But heh! There were good people on both sides.... :rolleyes-41:

Actually this is more like changing the names of bases, not tearing down statues, unless we decide to sink the boat.

And Hegseth figured an end run on the base name thing.

Different Bragg.

I’m not really for or against this, I think Harvey Milk was overrated at best. Sounds like they’re gonna be looking at renaming all the ships that were named under that class of ships.

YES.

I'm gay and I support this. YES. Name it anything else but that.

The names of our ships should be intimidating, named after legends in the military, things in military history, presidents, or people who made America the great nation she is today!

It shouldn't scream "hey we're itching to fuck you in the ass!"

And same with the Confederate war hero statues honored in the public square, on our dime.
