When did Trump begin to control the deficit? What day?

In Trump's first year, the debt only grew by 4%. If his first-year percentage remains the same for the rest of his term, his percentage will end up being less than half of Obama's percentage.

Based off of first link you gave, a president's "year" does not start till 1 Oct the year after the election. Most of 2017 is given to Obama. Trump only gets credit for the last 3 months of 2017.

Thus his first year is not over so we do not know how much it will grow in his first year

Besides being too early.... Did you notice Republican presidents had far worse debt? Aren't the cons supposedly fiscally conservative ? We already know that morally you are bankrupt. What's left then?

It is a bit early, but if that trend continues, he'll come in well under Obama's percentage.

Yes and yes.

We already know that morally you are bankrupt. What's left then?

Oh, so you oppose elective abortion? You oppose late-term abortions, when the baby is indisputably human? Yes?

Seems a little early to cheer for Trump since his "count" didn't start till Oct 1.
He's trying to make the hypocritical GOP fiscal legislation look good..

And really sucking at it!

It is interesting that if one goes back 50 years (so modern political history) the party known as spenders has added a total of 156% to the debt, while the "conservative" party has added 422%.
Meaningless numbers.

All numbers are meaningless without context.

Obama’s 68% is higher than W’s 101% and Reagan’s 186%.
