It isn't, you might find it tricky because you have to use your brain. The good reason is, you go clay pigeon shooting (shotgun) or you're a gun shooting range member (firearm).

Just pay the fee and apply.

This is why Yanks would fail a UK gun application because their good reason is just to shoot others because of the self defence fallacy. The whole problem with guns is people getting shot, and your brain is in default mode to shoot others in the name of the self defence fallacy.

I hope Congress and the president understand how important self-defense is to our nation, and pass this bill into law quickly and decisively.

A few decades ago I was a democrat and very much in favor of massive gun control and I would have been perfectly fine if we went door to door and took everyone's guns away so that only law enforcment had them. I didn't give a shit about the second amendment. Then I became a republican because it was very obvious that democrat policies, while many were well intentioned, just flat out don't work and often made things worse for the very people they were trying to help.

At the time of 9/11 it was like I just got a very huge slap in the face and had a revelation as to what the second ammendment was all about. If we are all armed with guns, nobody is ever going to take our country over, even if the president themselves surrenders. Now seeing democrats weaponize the justice system for political reasons, it is even more clear that Americans need to be ready to defend our country, not only from outside enemies, but to also defend our country from ourselves. On top of that, democrats let all the criminals run around loose and we need to be able to defend ourselves because democrats have law enforcement's hands tied behind their backs.

In the EU and UK, we don't walk in a public place with guns, they are fun free zones. You will find there's no need. The US suffers greater crime, nose bleeding levels of gun deaths, much higher knife deaths, and dreadful statistics. Having guns on you to protect yourself is a fallacy, the stats and reality shows you that. But the planet can't fix stoopid.
