Many of the bed wetters on this forum (deliberately) confuse Bush's ill-fated nation building efforts in Iraq with Trump's policy of organic self government for nations whose criminal leaders had to be removed. This has already been demonstrated in Venezuela, where the political infrastructure has been left in place.

In Iran, it was necessary to remove the current leadership in order to prevent their pursuit of nuclear weapons. As long as this requirement is maintained, Trump wants the people of Iran to determine what form of government they actually want.

Iran civil war?
How many factions do you think will be fighting before too long?

Ever wonder why Iran is a young nation, with 35 percent of its population between the ages of 15 and 29.

It's because most of their grandfathers were killed in human wave attacks against Iraq to the tune of at least 80K, likely much more.

That's right, human wave attacks after the mullah's filled their heads with BS.....That's why all the Islamic leaders there need to die.

The "political infrastructure" in Venezuela was a dictatorship. Dictatorships are usually pretty iffy about self government by "the people."

The Islamic Republic of Iran has needed to be wiped off the face of the Earth for decades. But it is complicated because who knows what kind of Islamic carpet merchant might slither into power next. The best we can do, I think, is to bomb them back to the stone age then keep a close eye on them. Best case scenario is a secular democratic form of government. But this is the ME, so I am not holding my breath.
