The first sound sounds almost like a "B" and then a "Y". BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Then a few hours latter we get a "D" sound DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD for 5 minutes and then nothing.

An hour latter we get an "N" sound NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

And then get a single burst of a sound 2 hours later that sounds like SSSSKKKKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Then the very next day we get an AAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ sound and then nothing for a week.

Not sure what to make of this.

Anyone?

Gotta understand waves. First off sound is a mechical wave. It needs a medium to travel through. Space does not have a medium to travel through. What the scientist are doing is using harmonics to ascribe a corresponding sound to the light wave produce. The way we tell if something is a wave is if it has disturbance. Disturbance can cause a wave to speed up or slow down. Waves can even cancel each other out. Green is kinda middle c for light waves. This is likely what they are describing as your silence. We look at a galaxy obviously all the spectrum of colors are present inside a galaxy but what you see will be an average of all the light waves coming at you due to disturbance from all waves coming together. Systems struggle to balance so most system stay at or near balance until energy is added or removed from the system. Due to this shift in energy when the system adds energy the light shift will move toward indigo. The system then struggles to balance as the system lowers in energy it shifts toward red. Somewhere along that shift it balances back to Green giving that silence they talk about. It continues to shift downward until the system fights to go back to equilibrium. So a system will bounce back and forth from high energy to low energy as time goes by.
