Names of campaign donors to be flashed during live stream of Trump’s State of the Union speech

Of course, silly, but how many people on the street bother to read that stuff, meantime, congrats for Trump for showing his marketing skills! You may laugh at it, but it is only going to bring him more money and support, but then you should know LONG BEFORE NOW that Trump does nothing by the conventional way that would blow up for anyone else but will work for him.

So you're going on record supporting this?

Why am I not surprised?

Just part of his way of making people feel closer to being a shareholder in the USA. It's going to go over a roaring success.

You really are a True Believer, aren't you?
Some believe in results, other in myths. The Hope&Change thng is over, done.

Come back and deal with the reality of sucess instead of clinging to what has passeed and failed. Do yourself a favor.

english, please.
True - not true.

Not true - better to accept true.

Dick, Jane and Sally

Not too confusing I hope.

You know that all donations to political campaigns are publicly available information, right?

This isn't about transparency, it's about selling ads during the State of the Union.

"The reality of success" is hawking donations at the State of the Union speech? Posting names of donors on the screen as the President performs his solemn duty?

You can keep that kind of success.

At first it was $35 for someone to have their name scrolled across the screen while Trump speaks--then...

Well, apparently the $35 was too steep for a lot of Trump's base, so they lowered it to as little as $1. "Even if you choose to give only $1, the proof of your support will send shockwaves around the world as they see every American who stands proudly behind our President." Nice to know there is absolutely nothing Trump won't sell, including an airtime mention during the SOTU speech.

ROTFLMAO!

Now this..this is funny! He has commercialized his speeches!

State of the Union..brought to by the Republican Party, the NRA, the Heritage Foundation and our friends around the world--who sent me their hard earned money--in return, I, Donald Trump, will give them 20 minutes of bloviated feces--while their names..flash across the screen!

Really odd way of looking at the fact that at least Trump is being open and transparent where his money came from and he keeps winning and succeeding while doing it! I'm still waiting for Hillary and the DNC to flash the list of all the foreign countries and shady people who gave her money BIG TIME. Let me know when she does this. Snoopy might be laughing now, but then, he's just a stupid cartoon dog from a long dead cartoonist.

That depends no who gets mentioned. If it is all corporate donors then you will be correct. If it is small mom and pop donators, then you will be wrong.

It's still paid advertising, either way - whether it's a corporation seeking recognition, or a "mom and pop" looking to see their name on TV.

Do you know what the State of the Union is?

What do you think the reaction would be, if Obama had sold ticker space to his donors during his State of the Union?

Slow down Skippy before you make a bigger fool of yourself.

You can watch the State of the Union address on a great deal of broadcasting networks and not be offended by seeing anyone's name.
But ... it you watch the live stream of the address on the President's Campaign Website he is going to thank his donors by showing their name.

Kind of like if you go to Kentucky Fried Chicken tonight ... They are probably going to be selling chicken ... Even though there is a State of the Union Address tonight.

Absolutely! When success is supported it should be announced.

I recall Al Gore caught soliciting contributions from foreign donors from the freaking White House phone bank way back when and his excuse was "there is no controlling legal authority". I could imagine the names of Tibetan priests or Arab sheiks or Ugandan or Mexican donors flashed at a Bill Clinton speech.
Yeah..you could imagine...and you would have to..because no such thing ever happened, now did it?
No such thing? Al Gore was caught red handed illegally soliciting donations from foreigners from the White House. The left wing media shrugged and immediately forgot about it.

Trump is a tool, except that real tools have at least some useful function.

Is that a two wrongs make a right argument? lol

I understand the difference, it's just not relevant to the point I'm trying to make.

And we'll never know how much in foreign campaign contributions Obama took in because they made sure it wasn't traceable.

I really don't have to defend a campaign website doing what it is intended to do ...
But if it makes you feel better thinking you have made some salient point ... Well, I won't steal your crayons.

What does Obama have to do with Trump selling airtime on his feed for the State of the Union?

Really? How so? One gets financial benefit from it, the other doesn't. How is that not different?

Wasn't trump the guy who said he was self funding his campaign so that he could work for the American people and not for wealthy donors? No, he's for sale like all the others. Looks like Sanders was the only decent and honest candidate in that election. He only took small donations. At least I don't think he broke that pledge.
