That $3.8T is over 10-years is actually $380b a year deficit.
The $175b DOGE savings is for 1-year.
The CBO deficit projection is based on several assumptions;
1. Assumed 1.8% GDP growth, it should be more than that increasing revenue
2. Did not include probable tariff revenue
3. Did not include the effect of lower interest rates
4. Did not include current or future DOGE savings
5. The senate version may have a smaller deficit or a surplus, such as a 40% top tax rate as Trump wants.

The House of Representatives’ Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 reconciliation bill – titled the One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025 (OBBBA) – would add $2.5 trillion to primary deficits over the coming decade, adding $3.1 trillion to the debt including interest. If its temporary provisions are extended without offsets, we estimate it would add $5.1 trillion to the debt including interest.

Add in tariff revenue, a few more senate budget cuts, a few Fed interest rate cuts, maybe even a 40% top tax rate, and we should get to a surplus.
