For those who might be interested, I've created a website on Jimmy Carter's real record as president:

President Carter's Real Record: The Misunderstood Presidency of Jimmy Carter

It includes numerous article and video links, plus an opening essay of mine on Carter's real record. I'll be adding more material to the site over the coming months, but there's plenty of stuff on the site now--there's enough that I feel comfortable advertising it.

He was a fine President. Like all Presidents I did not agree with him 100% ,but I do believe he had sound policies for the most part but got no support from the Left wing of his Party or the Republicans and treated un fairly by the media.
Back then a lot of folks I knew suspected a coordinated sabotage of his Presidency. Thankyou for the thread.

That's why his reelection was so close.

As long as you make unnecessary quips about, "today's Democrats" it will only be a political fanclub post.

Due to the overwhelming negative propaganda put out to the public by the media outlets and the left wing of the Democrat Party lack of support. The left wing shot it self in the foot for their lack of support Regan took the election with a big margin.

He was indecisive as hell...............common trait among many of our latest dem prez's.

Propaganda?

Sound policies? Like telling US that oil would run out in 10 years and gasoline lines were happening because of the odd/even days? Or when he told US to stand down, because every F-4 was loaded to bomb Tehran out of existence, which allowed Radical Islam to get a foothold in the middle east? Yeah, the term malaise became the new normal with Jimmy the Peanut Carter. That was why the actor came in and won in a landslide.

Carter was a total failure as President.
I'm guessing you didn't even bother to read the intro essay on the website, much less any of the article links.

Carter restored our military, cut the deficit, cut the number of federal employees, blocked federal funding for abortion, pushed through massive deregulation, added far less debt to the national debt per year than any of successors (except for Clinton), and achieved a job-growth rate that exceeded that of Reagan, both Bushes, and Obama.

Anybody who thinks Carter was tricked because Reagan was able to make a deal with some Iranian fanatics, is a victim of left wing propaganda. Carter was an inept fool. Brother Billy (burp) would have done a better job.

It's not propaganda. And no one says Carter was "tricked." "Betrayed" and "sabotaged" would be better terms.

Carter was an inept fool. Brother Billy (burp) would have done a better job.
I'm guessing you're another fellow conservative who did not bother to even read the intro essay on the website, much less any of the article links.

Carter was not inept, nor was he a fool. He was arguably the best or second-best educated president in our history.

How in the world could Reagan have had the foreign policy connections to "sabotage" the president of the United States apparently without his conscent or knowledge? WTF was Jimmie doing besides asking his pre-teen daughter for advice?

No one is saying that Reagan did this. The evidence points to William Casey, Reagan's campaign manager. Casey had numerous domestic and foreign policy connections. Casey served as Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs from 1973–1974, chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States from 1974–1976, and as a member of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board from 1975–1976. During WWII, he served in the OSS and was the head of the OSS's Secret Intelligence Branch in Europe. So Casey had plenty of connections even before he became Reagan's campaign manager. As Reagan's campaign manager, obviously he could command the attention of foreign diplomats and governments.

That’s true he didn’t bother to read it,kinda like you don’t take time to read evidence that doesn’t toot your own horn, you two have a lot in common, two peas in a pod.

I liked Jimmy Carter but felt the presidency was a bit over his head. Not that he was any worse than what the political parties presented to us last November. The last 2 paragraphs of the website was what provided some hope in America that has been absent these last 8 years.

And what is your basis for saying this? Humm? Actually, I always read both sides, or all sides, before I comment on an issue in a public forum.
