The Temple was there thousands of years before Islam was even a dream much less a religion.

And there were Temples there long before the Hebrews arrived. I believe the Hebrew Temple was built over Baal's, the Cannanite god..by the way most Temples are built on thr higher hills, to wit: Acropolis, Vatican Hill etc.

i think that, after the roomans destroyed the temple, the jews had over 500 years to reclaim the temple mount but instead, it seemed that during that period of time, according to sunni and history and archaeology, the jewish holy of holies was a collection of garbage.
