I was going to put this on another thread, but since there are so many cool, amazing clips of animals listening to music, I figured it deserved a thread of its own. Different animals seem to enjoy different types of music, maybe it has to do with the frequency, I don't know. In any event, I think music is a universal language. :)

Yeah, there is a lot of conjecture on that. Harmonic content, structure, compositional integrity.

The Hindus have identified various musical tones as correlating to the sympathetic chakras of energy nodes along the spine.

I have a tuning fork tuned to the sound of the origin of the universe (OM).

Very interesting. I don't understand it, but there's definitely something to it... Music is like an actual language. It's hard to explain.

Let me put this more simply: when these animals (birds, etc) hear various music-- certain tones, rhythms, patterns etc., it probably stimulates pleasure centers in their brains much like certain songs just tend to "send" you and invoke certain memories.

In other words, your pets are getting high off music. :SMILEW~130:

So of course they are drawn to it.

Music to me is like an additional emotion, good music that is, music that is timeless.

It's "experienced" as much as it is "heard".

That is it. Music is a language.

If you could watch a brain scan, the brain organizes itself across the corpus collosum better listening to music.

When you go to a concert and everyone is rocking and jumping to the music, it is because the music is sending out a message to the listeners that they all hear and understand on a visceral, organic level even if they cannot relate that message verbally to a spoken thought.

Just as our brains have receptor cites to certain key chemical molecules, our auditory pathways have receptivity to certain sounds, organized, harmonic sounds. Musicians sense those subliminal messages and organize them into subliminal messages in their music to say things subliminally.

Sometimes even the musician himself is hard pressed to put into words what he says with his music, just that he knows he said it.

My dog loves this song, Uptown Funk, just loading to paste here she went nuts howling and 'dancing'.
Only song she likes that much.
I was exercising to music one day and that song just came up on YouTube, she started wagging her tail and yapping.
She also likes 'Happy' but not nearly as much.

That is so funny and kinda amazing. He has a favorite song. 😆 Thanks for sharing that story.

This guy, Plumes (a French musician) always sings to animals....and the reactions are truly amazing.

Look at this lion's reaction. He walks right up to get a front row seat and just relaxes and listens to the music. 🥰

This one's a general video on what he does....
