Mrs. Kirk With Some Ideas About Women and Work

You seem to be unable to understand that if the leftist mentality doesn't control our society and culture, the situations in Dallas, Houston, Austin can change for the better. I speak of a better America, not the one's Biden and company and the Deep State and self-serving wrong headed other politicians have forced on us.
WWII is what brought women fully broken in to the workforce, when the men were gone, someone had to do their jobs....not Democrats or Biden blather....

where liberals came in was fighting for women to get equal pay for an equal job....both Accountants as example, should be paid the same....the woman should not be paid less for the same job and workload.

By allowing women to be paid less for the same job, actually hurt men in the long run, by keeping their pay lower too because someone just as capable cost the employer less...and by employers favoring hiring the cheapest person displacing men from jobs they once held before the war....along with the stifling of their pay.

It used to be, when the wife and mother went to work, part time usually, it was simply for that little bit of extra money, for perks.... like a family vacation at a Motel instead of camping, or saving for their children to go to college and have a better life than themselves...

Now, our capitalistic economy requires two people working, just for the basics of our era, for a good 40% of the country is my guess...

Our economy grew so much, and we became the economic power of the World, with the strongest Military..... BECAUSE women were in the workforce, added to the men.

It would be a completely different America, if this hadn't happened...

Which still might have been a better place to live and rear kids, than what it has turned out to be, but who really knows? :dunno:

Nevertheless I will stand by my post. So called progressivism/American leftism has contributed more to the worst sides of our society than any other factor in our history. Reversing that will hopefully do far more good for America and Americans than anything else we can do.

you mean nature FF

~S~
Call it what you want. We are not slaves to nature. Unless you would like to tell me how worshiping a fat rapist on a message board is an evolutionary advantage.

Its not going to be reversed...not unless you are willing to pay a whole lot more for the same product made here. Then healthcare premiums will have to come down BIGLY. And you will be in support of unions so wages and benefits increase. And i highly doubt any of those happen. So things arent going to reverse. In fact the trends will continue as long as we make things more difficult for young people.

I like everything you have written, but please indulge me and allow me to interject:

Men and Women are all being driven to chase money and status.

If we return to the basic fundamental truth that we are all EQUAL, then these problems dissolve into nothing. Yes, some women are great women and have great capabilities. Men and Women are EQUAL, but have different capabilities. The janitor who cleans the office toilets is equal to the CEO of the company who employs them. This does not mean equal pay or equal living quarters. It means each should have the same respect.

And where does money and status come from? Increasingly too often it comes from a government stamp of approval from a failed education system. Equity is the idea that one class of person should be treated differently and given a different level of respect and status than some other group. Equity is the 4th level of communism, the point at which we are supposed to allow "some appointed people" to hold higher status and therefore higher respect.

Instead, if we bow our heads to the fact that God created all of us as equals, then the evil will recede. This can not be mandated by government, but must be realized internally on an individual basis. And once accomplished, of course we will not let our brothers and sisters who do their best fall into hard times.
Congratulations on significant ability for critical thinking. I have not interacted with you much, if at all, but I am definitely impressed. Your conceptual analysis is far more developed and complex than with most encountered on these message boards. :)

As an old style 'feminist', I have personally lobbied/fought for the right of women to earn what the men do when the woman is willing and able to do what the men do and is just as valuable to her employer as the men are. I have worked on commission a good deal in my working life, especially after the kids were through college and on their own, and because I was very good at what I can do and accomplish, I very often out earned the men, sometimes by a good deal. Nobody can tell me I was disadvantaged in any way because I am a woman.

But when the kids were still at home, my husband and I agreed he was the primary bread earner and I would be the essential mom and homemaker and would be the one to start over each new place. (He was transferred a lot in the earlier years.)

So I made sure I could be there for the kids, be a homeroom mom and other booster for their activities, would be the one to get them to doctor's appointments during the work day, would be there for them when they were sick or otherwise needed me. My employers accommodated that, but that meant I missed more work than the guys, was less available to work overtime or travel. In other words, even though my work was exemplary, because I chose to put kids and family first, I was not as valuable to my employers as the men.

I understood that and was okay with it. It was my choice and nobody can tell me it was not a worthy choice or I was somehow disadvantaged by it in any way.

Still, the mentality that enough is enough and foregoing 'keeping up with the Jones' can allow a woman to be a full time mother and homemaker. And as a 'feminist' pushing equality in life choices based on ability, I will never agree that she is 'wasted' because of that choice or is any lesser in worth because of that choice.

For government not to meddle in society, as the Founders intended, could eventually return us to a society in which two salaries was no longer seen as a necessity. Those women, like myself, who chose to be working moms, not out of necessity but because we wanted that something extra, should not be demeaned or seen as lesser because they choose that. And women who want to be homemakers and full time moms should also be seen as just as valuable and in no way lesser persons.

Reverse progressivism/American leftism that pushes government meddling as much as possible and we might again be able to give people those kinds of choices.

Please show me the positions available in Dallas, Houston, Austin that could afford someone on one income affording a home, saving for retirement, and saving for college for 2+ kids?

Also, what are these 'timeworn effective traditional American values,' that would suddenly send money pouring into the family?

These are not criticisms, they are questions.
Putting your kids through college has left many without enough to retire comfortably. It has been sold as a parental obligation meant to enrich the educational system. Worse, kids coming out of college are dumber than when they went in. Any brains they might have had is 'educated' out of them.

Getting rid of unions has also contributed. You want the stay at home moms i get it. Ideally yes. But lets say the husband is making $60 thousand per year. Thats not much at all. Factor in health care payments, mortgage, food, a vehicle, the list goes on. Many a young couple is like "no thanks we will pass on kids until we are financially set for the forseeable future." So they are being smarter and more responsible.
You are going to have to be a proponent of much much higher wages for workers here then. And you as the consumer will have to be happy paying a much higher price for stuff made here vs overseas. Otherwise. It is NOT going to happen. Having values is great but $$$ pays the bills.
I only make $60,000/yr. (from wages) and I drive a $7000 family-sized car that I paid cash for. Lots of these cars around. Someone only making $60K has no business buying a new car, unless they're single.

A big problem is that young people buy into someone else's idea of what their lifestyle should be; a lifestyle that few can afford. If they could break away from the "Starbucks" crowd they could get ahead much sooner.

I see the christian white nationalist pile of shit also whined that women were substituting government for family and waiting to have kids.

First, that's obviously an insane muppet thing to say. Who is spoonfeeding this dipshit such idiotic things?

Second, the grifter had her first kid at 34 years old.

Not only smart, but Biblical as well.

"Make things fit in the field (your occupation), then build your house (your family)."
Then you better tell her what an agent of Satan she is for her anti biblical remarks designed to put more money in her pocket.

She may be an agent of Satan. Time will tell. She was thrust into the "gate" from her rightful place as a Proverbs 31 wife.

Still no one can answer my question. Thats terrifying and shows how much the OP is utter bullshit.

A $7,000 car? Its a dog. Now how do you take care of three kids, a wife, pay for a home (no MOBILE HOMES DON'T COUNT), healthcare, retirement and kid's education?

I went to an eye clinic appointment yesterday (for cataracts). The waiting room was full of seniors, no young people at all. The staff of dozens were all young people. So, there was a large transfer of wealth going on from old retirees to young working people, mostly young professionals and tech workers. This is a good sign for the younger generation especially those going into the healthcare field. It will get better as well as the 'boomers' get older and need more healthcare services. The wealth transfer will be huge.

People do get raises. Odds are that someone with three kids, a mortgage, retirement account, and is saving for kid's college makes a lot more than $60K. And that his company contributes to his health insurance plan and possibly his retirement.

So AGAIN, no one can cite an example.
