I dearly hope that Trump is trying to end the war on the best possible terms for Ukraine. I could accept handing over a modest part of the areas in eastern Ukraine where there is substantial pro-Russian sentiment, but anything beyond that would strike me as a sellout.

The key isn't what the USA will accept, but what Ukraine is willing to accept. After all, it's their country. If they want to fight a war of extinction against the invaders, it's their business.
